Dated for July 11th. Clear weather, mid afternoon.
It seemed natural once more to roam the Blackberry Fields, without the tweedle of ghosts reaching out to him to pull him off the path. No longer did he think of what used to be here, of all the encounters he'd had amongst the unfriendly bushes. His mind was now free of such fogs, focused instead on the clear and bright future. At last with a pack that didn't need constant watching over, he could breathe and travel (only now and then, as spare time was much better spent with the children) as he used to be able to what felt like so long ago.
Stretching his legs now amongst the tangles of the berry-bearing growth, he sought not the sickening blackberries but the clusters of white yarrow that grew amongst them. It was a small plant that was excellent for so many things, and while the hardest (physical) portion of child rearing was over for @Raela, Gent still made sure to cater to her every need and ensure that she did not suffer any maladies. And the others too, he supposed. Not that they had given any cause for concern, each of them fit as a fiddle.
Normally, @Sylva would be brought along on such a venture, but today, Gent was enjoying being alone with his thoughts. There was always next time, anyways.
