Lenae Selwyn
RE:Spring showers have come early, resulting in heavy downpours throughout parts of Relic Lore For @Rowan .Anywho, I was playin Fallout and this song came on. Good tune.

This was supposed to be a fresh start, a new beginning with her slate wiped clean. So why did she feel so miserable? As though she was the odd one out, a puzzle piece that didn't belong? Maybe this had been a bad idea. The food and shelter was nice and this old coyote's den was leagues better than what she'd been used to for the past few months. But despite her best efforts-or rather a lack of- she just couldn't work up the courage and instead hid from the others all day long until she thought it was safe.

They were giving her space, just like Wraith had promised, but by now shouldn't she be trying harder, doing better? Why was progress so slow? In fact, it didn't even feel as though she was getting anywhere at all. It was like she was running as fast as she could, giving it her all and yet she was stuck to the spot, like an old tree with long twisting roots.

The weather wasn't helping her mood either. Nor was it giving her any motivation to at least leave the den and say a quick hello to anyone who was loitering nearby. She knew that the pack had a pup, she could smell the lingering scent of Piety and her young one if she pressed her nose to the floor. She'd never actually seen him , but she'd heard him plenty. Lenae had always loved pups, or at least she loved the idea of them, seeing as she'd never had any younger siblings. Her parents had been the one litter and done sort. In hindsight, she regretted their choice, but quickly dismissed that thought.

She had no many regrets, it was best to not add anymore, lest the collective weight of them all crushed her.

Poking her snout out of the den, Lenae huffed a sigh. It was coming down as though the heavens had opened, as though the Gods above were crying over what they had lost. Well, she'd lost far more than they ever had and she wasn't crying. So they needed to clean up their act and promptly!

Slinking out into the rain, Lenae squinted up at the grey sky, only to have a spot of rain land in her eye.

"Oww!' She yelped and shook her head. This was not going well at all, maybe she should just go bad inside.

Rowan Attaya
With Cyril growing miles at a time now the silver-dusted male had begun to inject extra vigilance in his patrols - which was why Rowan noted the coyote den suddenly being inhabited again. The scent was one of their own, but not a wolf with whom he had become familiar. This she-wolf never showed up at the communal den and he rarely found her tracks beyond the den's mouth. Though he tried to manufacture divine intervention and catch the newcomer while marking the borders, they seemed to oddly miss each other every time.

On this particular patrol spring had decided to bless them all with nothing short of a torrential downpour, watering their crops and positively irritating Rowan to no end. It was far more difficult to see and smell with the constant crashing of raindrops, not to mention his thick grey coat was positively penetrated with them, but the Attaya was nothing if not dutiful. He made his rounds, noting anything that seemed different than before (though nothing did), marked what he could, and turned back toward the monadnock with an enviable swiftness.

Rounding on the coyote's den by habit he did not see her emerge, his eyes narrowed on the ground to avoid the same fate that would befall her just a moment later. Her voice rang out a single staccato, Ow, grabbing the male's attention. "I'm sorry," he blurted, immediately assuming - despite having felt no evidence of it - his careless wandering had driven him to careen directly into another. Quickly realizing he hadn't body-slammed their newest member, Rowan lifted his head and observed the she-wolf and her scrunched-shut eye. "Oh um - are you alright?"

Through the flurry of raindrops and his own squinted eyes it was difficult to get a good look at her - but he could see she was small with an agouti-patterned coat. She looked distinctly different than Cheedo, however, their resident small agouti. Perhaps they'd make a pair, Rowan thought, though he noted she was here all alone.

Lenae Selwyn
Lenae hadn't been out for long, no more than a minute, and yet she was already soaked to the bone. She felt sorry for those who didn't have shelter, a place to call home or at the very least somewhere to retreat so they could stay warm and dry. But worst of all, she knew what it was like, as before she'd stumbled into these lands she had struggled to survive alone for months on end. And oh, what a struggle it had been.

Before it all, the life of a loner had seemed glamorous, but know she knew better. Nothing was ever as it seemed and only the strong survived. If it hadn't been for Wraith and Piety, well Lenae wouldn't have lasted long. Days, maybe weeks? Either way, she would have died and that would have been the end of her sad sad story.

But all of a sudden she was no longer alone. For a moment she thought it was Wraith, that he was dropping in to check on her but even with the heavy downpour she could see that this wolf and Wraith were not one of the same. He was a Whitestone wolf-she had no doubt about that- but even so the sight of him, a large, hulking stranger was more than enough to send a shiver down her spine. Unlike Wraith's coat- which was dark, like a starless night sky- this stranger's fur was home to tints of silver on his brow and down his back.

Blinking owlishly, Lenae gawped at the stranger as she struggled to regain her wits. There was no need to panic or freak out and yet that was all she wanted to do. To cower and slink back into her den and pretend as though he wasn't even here. But there he was, standing before her, tall and seemingly concerned for her well being.

"Um...Y-yes, fine. I'm f-f-fine. Got r-rain in my eye. It's okay now, w-wet all over."

Wow. Was that the best she could manage? Gone were the days were she used to charm the pants off whoever approached their borders. These days she could barely string a sentence together and even then her words were all choppy and teeth-chattery.She'd been selfishly thinking of how cold and wet she was, but what of him, her pack mate? He was even worse for wear and had clearly been out in the rain for a long time, longer than a few minutes anyway.

"What ab-bout you...Sir?" She ducked her head down, a cowardly show of respect.
