Hawthorne Selwyn
@Sylva lemme know if i should change anything

The growing girl was getting tired of all this stuff falling from the sky. It seemed like every day that she woke up it was either falling or the puffy things that brought them were close. If she got lucky she could romp about outside before the stuff fell. It wasn't like she didn't like it or anything but it just got boring after a while.

Restless as usual she squirmed in the den. Stubby legs with growing paws flailed about as she entertained herself for a bit. It was fun laying on her back sometimes. When she looked everything was different compared to how it was when she was standing. Hawthorne could only chalk it up to being some kind of magic. Of course, not even this new found magic could satisfy the Riverflow child forever.

"Maaaaa." Hawthorne's tail beat against the den floor with ease. Surely her mother would know how to make this all better. "Maaa." She whined softly at the end of her sentence in order to really make sure her mother would come here. The child wondered what her mother might have hidden to fix this boredom. Perhaps a story or game. Hawthorne really didn't have a preference for one over the other right now.

The mother’s ears perked as she paused just outside of the den’s entrance, her muzzle caked in fresh blood, She tilted her head slightly at Hawthorne’s call, a small smile played across the woman’s muzzle as she licked the last of the crimson liquid away, the rain had been coming down steadily lately, she had asked her child to stay in when it came down hard, unwilling to risk the growing child’s chances against an early illness.

“Yes little one?” she said with a smile as she pushed herself into the den proper, a soft snort escaping as she turned her attention toward Hawthorne, finding the pup laying on her back caused the soft grin to broaden. She reached over, pressing her muzzle against the upturned child’s cheek “Need a cure for the boredom?” she asked, settling down next to the pup, her flank brushing her side. She paused for a moment, getting an idea, now seemed like as good as time as any for Hawthorne to learn about the parts of the world that merely last year, Sylva had been thought of as crazy for believing in “Do you hear the rain falling?” she started off by asking a painfully obvious question.

Hawthorne Selwyn
The sound of her mother's voice caused the young child's tail to frantically whip below her. Hawthorne was fully ready to declare her boredom but before she could her mother talked again. "Yaa!" She rolled onto her stomach and eagerly pushed herself under her mother's chin. Hawthorne's favorite place in the world had to be against her mother's chest or near her stomach. Both places were so warm and safe. No matter the excitement outside of the den held there would always be something magical about her mom's presence.

She tipped back her head to give her mother a rather silly look. Of course, she heard the rain! It had been here like forever. Hawthorne wasn't sure what that had to do with anything but she gave her mother a few good nods before she carefully tucked herself into the warmth of her mother. There was no dampness, muddiness, and loneliness here unlike the outside world. While she did love to explore sometimes it got a bit lonely. She could always try and go find those other kids but the young Riverflow was still unsure about them.

With a soft sigh, she silenced her puppy thoughts and eagerly awaited her mother's words.
