@Rory <3 || Firefly Grove, Early morning, Patchy rain possible, 67 ° F, 19 ° C

He seemed to pick up a habit of waking up before the sun had rose into the sky. His pale tawny form hulking through the woods into the unknown. It was nice at times like now. The sun was blasting down on him and the rest of the River wasn't hustling and bustling. There weren't children trying to escape their mother's side and there wasn't anyone interfering with him. He liked Hearthwood River. He liked most of the wolves in the River, but he usually just wanted to be alone. Laike knew he worked better that way. Not to mention he wasn't as emotionally in touch as others, bonds only went as deep as his instinct needed. This place might be home but these wolves weren't exactly family (except for his brother, Lorcan).

Last time he had followed his paws he had wound up meeting Lachesis in a clearing of lavender. He liked the man, softer and not so demanding. Today he was alone as he wandered. Unsure just how far he would get before the sun peeking over the horizon and casting golden rays through the woods.

The forest seemed to grow thick around him and for a moment he contemplated turning back. Laike was a bulky man who never had enjoyed tight spaces. But there was an interest to keep going as he could see the faint glow of morning's light up ahead. He tried his best to carefully move forward. Fiery eyes constantly flickering about to keep watch. The sound of the river moving was his comfort. He had grown used to the sound after living in Hearthwood River for a bit.

As he broke into a better clearing he could see the world around him better. The sunlight managed to get through here where it had not been able to just wolf lengths ago. It was beautiful (a word the large male was getting comfortable with using) to say the least. He stood there like a stunned beast in the glow of the morning. He was positive he couldn't have asked for a better start to his day.

She woke to the warmth of sunshine across her back, and beautiful overly excited birds chirping loudly at the approach of the mornings first rays. Since sleep had so quickly eluded her, she shifted her weight to come onto her paws without missing a beat and shook her pelt to chase away any remaining promises of sleep that still tugged at her youthful eyes--she would need to be sharp this morning.

Being a loner had it's advantages, but many more disadvantages that threatened her each day. Her main disadvantage was finding adequate food therefore her day often began and ended in searching for enough food to quiet her rumbling stomach and stop the urge to faint from having become malnourished. While searching for food the vixen was not particularly picky, she scavenged from any and everything she could wrap her jaws around, hoping that sickness didn't follow the coming morning when she would repeat the process for the remainder of the next day.

She'd become a create of habit when before there had been non, but this wasn't a bad thing. Caring for herself proved that she'd become more responsible than she'd thought previously. Her livelihood and health lay in her own paws, and failure could be placed on only herself, no one else. It was the ultimate kick in the ass that she needed to keep herself busy; procrastination bred death.

Lost in her thoughts, the sensation that another was nearby caused a stall in her movement when she was nearly upon him. With a fear of discovery,  she moved with renewed caution for fear of being spotted and studied her surroundings like a hawk. No doubt, the creature would be on its way and she could finish her routine without disturbance, if she could only manage to slink by without detection.

When Laike did not move from his spot as she'd hoped so she hesitated to continue further into the clearing, ignoring the initial pain of thirst caused by the rifting waters. After a few minutes of painful wait, she moved toward the river to drink from it in haste once the male's attention seemed to shift elsewhere. She needed to be quick, though stealth had hardly been her forte and when she checked to see if the male had spotted her, eyes the color of ripe pumpkins met her own.

He was at the other side of the river, meters away from her and yet she felt nervous in his company. Nervousness made her jittery, and she sputtered a half intelligent greeting. "ermhello?" it was rushed and awkward, but out in the open Rory was a sitting duck, and afraid. Staring at her company jolted and tugged at her memory...his eyes were intriguing to say the least; something about this male was familiar.
