Adelayde Artemieva
Backdated to 2/18, four days after Griffin's return and a few days after the disappearance of @Drestig
Late Morning || Partly Cloudy
@Laike @Jessie @Neko @Anwen @Chimera

Pacing back and forth outside the empty communal den, the Rye beta was worried, way beyond any degree she's ever been before. Not only has @Sphinx been missing for months and Gale had traveled the countryside in search of her as nobody else could with Drestig's injury, now the father himself has disappeared. A family trait forming? Adelayde thought bitterly, but as soon as the thought crossed her mind, the guilt flooded in to replace it. Drestig and Jessie didn't ask for their children to have wandering paws, however, it seemed none of them thought to tell the pack before leaving where they were headed.

So, Adelayde was going to take things into her own paws. @Drestig, sure he may be out of the infirmary and walking about, but that didn't mean he was well enough to journey well past the borders. After day two (she wasn't really sure when Drestig really left), she began to really worry. Where had the Rye alpha gone? Was he lost? Did something happen to him where he couldn't get back or call for help? The Rye beta wasn't going to wait around to find out if he was alive or dead.

Raising her head, she summoned for anyone nearby, emphasizing for Laike's presence. Adelayde wasn't going to disappear without word.

Jessie Tainn

It was not like Drestig to just disappear without word, no certainly not. It was something that Jessie would do, without question, but for her mate to go off, especially injured was not incomprehensible. The Rye Queen's stomach lurched uneasily, threatening to spill its contents at any moment. Scenario after scenario played in her head of where he could have gone. There was no reason for him to have left. This place, this home, it was all for him. Something had to have happened, there was no other explanation. She wanted to go, so desperately, but there was no choice but for her to stay. She was the only leader remaining and with Adelayde and Laike having stepped up the past several weeks to make up for the Rye couple's lacking, it was time for her to return to the mantle. It broke her heart. She had the lead. The scent was sharp on her nose. She knew she could find him.

The Tainn shut her eyes tight against the world. A call sounded from the heart of the territory. Adelayde. The mother's paws flew over the snow covered terrain, eyes blinking rapidly against the wind to keep the moisture in. When she arrived, her breath could be seen in short white clouds. Emerald eyes focused on her second, nodding her heart in greeting. "What is it, Adelayde?" Beneath her cold facade was worry for her mate, worry for the children that were no longer with them, and worry for the pack as a whole.
