Piety Santoro
for @Sven only please, leaving some details regarding the WR thread vague. Muse Music

Piety did not care what sour feelings lived between her and her eldest son. She was intending to grip onto the good ones even if she was bad at it and the action was pointless. The Santoro knew she had been an awful mother the first time. Hell, she hadn't even been a mother. She had paid for it mentally and physically. A mostly missing ear the reminder of Morganna making her pay a price for being horrible to both Skoll and Sven - for being a nuisance to the Ridge wolves as a whole.

She liked to think she had grown so much since then. Perhaps she hadn't. Perhaps her first son saw her for what she truly was even if she felt she adorned a new set of morals. There was guilt surrounding her thoughts of him that couldn't be washed away. But for everyone's sake, she owed him personal time. If it meant another missing ear or more scars to wear than so be it.

The scarred dove tipped her head back calling into the cool evening air. Her request was clear - Sven and only him.

Sven had half a mind not to heed the woman's call. He was still at @Leotie's side, and didn't much feel like leaving her. Yet he understood that this was not something he could simply ignore, not when it was right here at his doorstep. Whatever Piety wanted, he supposed he could clarify this newfound resolution to her. Anyways, there was something he wanted to come clean about.

So he said goodbye to his friend with a kiss to her cheek, a silent thank you for being there for him. "I'll be back," he promised her, before heading off. He took his time, in no rush for what was destined to be an unpleasant exchange. He couldn't say it would be insufferable, however, because with each step the numbness returned. When he finally saw her, there was nothing within his eyes.

He stopped several paces short of what would be considered comfortable proximity for conversation, and was silent. She had beckoned, she could start the conversation.

Piety Santoro
possibly mature post? x:

When he showed, the lacking mother wasn't sure if she should have been surprised or not. Despite how piss poor she was he seemed to keep answering her. It was rude of her and the fact that she acknowledged it but still did it was the alarming thing. She was supposed to be better than that but it seemed that maybe she was no better than any other heathen.

So where did she start? Small talk seemed uncalled for but what news did she drop? There was a silence between them and perhaps that was what happened when you barely knew your son. Maybe she was forcing something that wasn't meant to be. "The north harbors my dead mate and it's pretty obvious I don't belong in the south." It was a start, even if it wasn't a good one. Wraith had been slaughtered like prey to defend Cyril and she had a son in the south who she couldn't find good footing with. Maybe she wasn't meant to be a parent or have a family but she could work that out on her own time.

"Where's that leave a heathen to go? I can't burden Morganna forever." Because it was no secret between the two of them that she had been hidden away in the north in a land that once belonged to the dark female Archer.

What she had to say was brutal, and yet he felt nothing. There was no sympathy that she had lost this new husband nor that his half-sibling had lost his father. Piety and Skoll both had procreated enough to make keeping up with his half-blooded relatives for more energy than it was worth. And seeing those scars again, the ones that had twisted his stomach to here Sahalie describe to him, they impacted him as little as perhaps seeing the ones that littered his own body had her. All in all, Sven simply no longer cared.

"Are my words finally worth something now?" he asked in return. She seemed to be seeking some kind of advice or consolation from him, when not too long ago he had been only an afterthought. She wasn't allowed to do that, to disregard him until they were alone and then fall apart and ask him to pick up the pieces. He had tried, that time in the Grove, and she had slipped away like a ghost, leaving him to wonder if she'd ever been there at all.

"No wonder you ended up with Morganna; you're rather alike. Neither of you get to use me when it's convenient for you, however. Not anymore."
