Neo wasn't quite sure what he had expected to find once he left the forest line. More of the lowlands perhaps, hardy golden scrubs and caribou trails leading into the unknown. And while perhaps he had found more lowland he hadn't expected to see what looked like a wide sea of gold spread from the edge of the forest out into the plains. But here he stood at the edge of the rye field looking at the slowly moving stalks. Like waves of an open sea the plants swept over each other with every gust of wind and Neo just stood there staring wondering if Vinnie had ever seen anything like it...
He should show this to her later as he wasn't certain she had followed him out exploring from their current resting point. They'd decided to move on a while ago but Neo didn't mind taking it slow as they moved further and further away from the cherry orchard. To him it was kinda releasing to leave it behind, to move one and stop the wonder and worry in his chest. He didn't feel guilty to let Nia go, he knew she was out there somewhere happy and maybe with a pack or family of her own. So he shouldn't worry about her, shouldn't trap himself or Vinnie in an endless ghost chase.
With his mind scattered, he grunted shaking his head trying to focus his mind on the sea of gold. A smile forming on his lips alongside a perhaps childish idea. Then out of nowhere, he bolted into motion his limbs sending him into a jump as he tumbled in between the golden stalks rolling as he hit the ground and tumbled into the rye with a laugh.
