Tulip DayHeart
The journey up the mountain had been postponed by a sickness that overcame her a few days after meeting @Stella . She'd just recovered enough energy to begin her trek when the respiratory illness began. The potent sickness came with a rattling breath, every inhale and exhale painful. For many moons it held onto her, ravaging her body of its weight. Tulip despite her elderly state pulled through by the skin of her nape, her body was frail and malnourished. She'd remained by the base of the mountain until the stench of sickness had left her pelt, gaining back what strength she could. Then slowly she ascended taking many breaks to recoup and rest. Her journey was long and harsh, and the woman became lost for days before she finally found the pack's scent. Any other wolf would have been up the mountain in half the time it'd taken the senior.

Nonetheless, Tulip had made it. She collapsed from exhaustion, her trembling legs buckling beneath the weight of her body. Weakly she cried out for @Moonshadow hoping to see her face again. If this took her, this exhaustion, seeing Moon would be her final wish. To see the one who was most like a mother to her. Tulip's head fell unwillingly to the ground after she'd called out. Murky eyes looked forward with hope even as she crumbled. She was so weak now, she could not be of use to them, this she knew.  Not until she'd regained her health would she be of use to anyone. This had been her home once and for many years she'd wished to return...but would they even consider it? Still, she found comfort in the idea of seeing her 'Oon one last time.

Matos Eastfall-Slayer
With his little sister able to leave the den the desire to guard her and the rest of his family increased tenfold. It would be a little while longer before she could get a good distance from the den but that didn’t matter to the Eastfall-Slayer boy. It was morning, the birds chirped among the trees while the sun began to peak out from behind the mountain top. A deep breath of cool mountain air was sucked into his lungs as he made his way easily over the rocky terrain. All was calm until a faint cry reached his ears. His onyx audits flicked in the direction of the sound. It almost sounded like someone called for his grandmother…
Matos’ curiosity filled him was he weaved towards the stranger. It wasn’t long before interesting woman came into view. Emerald and amber looked her over, her starkly different colored coat taking him by surprise. Had he been older he would have remembered his manners quicker and not stared. While he took in the sight of her her exhaustion became clear and he called out to her “Miss, are ya alright?”. Concern was clear in his youthful features. He hadn’t been sure if this woman had called out for his grandmother or if he had been hearing things. If she had then surely she’d ask for her again…right?

Dead Empress Backwater VI. Subordinate
Magg Slayer
Magg had been relatively close by, perusing the borders for weakened markers and signs of breaches, when she heard a weak voice calling out. She arrived on the scene just after Matos had spoken, the brown eyes she'd inherited from her mother looking the aged stranger over. By the way she looked, the young girl mistakenly thought her older than even her grandmother, and her concern rose far more quickly than her brother's.

She called out loudly, sending up a howl for @Aquene, not just as her mother and leader but also as shaman. This woman needed help, and if history had taught Magg anything, she likely needed it fast.

Dutifully after she moved to lay at the collapsed wolf's side, not considering that the unknown other could be any kind of a threat and only seeking to protect and comfort as any good guardian should.

"It's okay, help is coming."

Aquene Slayer

Aquene heard the urgent call of her daughter and her head immediately snapped away from the herbs she was sorting through, not hesitating to break into a run despite the strains that still existed on her body from being post-partum. Her daughter had called for her, it was urgent, and she would respond in kind. She had not heard the hoarse cry for Moonshadow from the woman, only that of Magg’s call.

When she arrived, her eyes widened. “Back away, let me through.” She would instruct both of her children as she moved forward. She was unwell, and the scent of sickness radiated off of her. Aquene was used to handling these things as safely as she could but she had not imparted this knowledge on anyone who did not wish to pursue the healing arts. They would not need it, after all.

She would begin by pressing her maw against the woman’s chest, listening and feeling the rattle of her chest with a frown. “Matos, Magg, do either of you remember what sweet grass and black hawthorn look like?” She had imparted some basic medical knowledge. “I need some, urgently… along with poppy.” Poppyseeds were kept high up, to avoid a pup accidentally stumbling upon them, and so most knew what they were because she cautioned them.

In Tulip’s age, she doubted it would matter if she found herself inflicted with addiction… Aquene feared that she might be too far gone for her to help, but it would not stop her from trying.
