Atara was not happy that her brother was gone, nor about the impact it had on their mother. Seen even despite @Finley's best efforts to conceal them. She was her mom, how could she not feel her sadness? But there was no fixing her brother's stupid choices. So for the most part, she tried to hide the ways in which she was bothered, because expressing it and radiating her negativity out into the world just didn't seem useful.
Still, today, she was in a mood. So she'd chosen to spend a majority of the afternoon alone, exploring the lesser-traversed parts of the pack's territory. That's when she crossed an animal she should have pitied, but instead got pissed off by.
It hadn't sought cover soon enough, and every day it remained out in the open it severely lowered its chances at survival, and still the snapping turtle was marching on, slow but defiant to all which came within its path. It saw Atara and raised its head, lidded eyes seemingly narrowed at her. When she continued closer, undeterred, it parted its dangerous beak threateningly.
Atty didn't see a threat though. She saw some stupid land fish being dumb thinking it was all tough.
"Bug off, guy," she growled, hackles rising. She should've just kept walking by she thought, but a big part of her wanted to tip the thing over just out of spite.
