Weldering Darksidy

Weldering ambled off slowly yet still keeping his sharp blue eyes on Borlla as he made his way up onto the beaver dam for a second time. A small smile spread over his handsome black muzzle as he sighed softly still wondering what his daughter what have been like if this had been her lesson. He was impressed that Borlla was still concentrating for at her age he would have given up by now and would have dived into the stream and continued playing.

Casting over to her a final glance he returned into position and the minutes slowly ticked by as suddenly his ears flicked back hearing the sound of splashing behind him and Borlla moving. Weldering was not entirely sure what was going on however with a large fish nearing his nose he held still for a few more second before snapping his sharp ivories together clasping the fish and dragging it out along with his head. His sharp fangs had pierced the neck of the silver creature killing it instantly as he lay it beside him. Now turning to see what the pup was doing, his eyes straining as he noticed the tiny fish leaping about on the grass. Weldering could not help but grin, his tail wagging happily. "Nice one Borlla!" He exclaimed, still grinning. "Just make sure it doesn't jump back into the water and I'll be over there in a minute." Placing her on tiny fish guarding duty while he quickly turned back to try and retrieve one more large fish so they had at least one each.

Borlla Tainn-Argyris
It didn't seem to ever stop moving. She tried to get her paws onto it to hold it down, but it always seemed to flop right out of the way. When Welde called up from the dam, she did takes from him to the fish, only really catching every other word he said. Something about waiting. She could do that. Borlla made herself into a wall, trying to keep the fish away from the water was hard. Like the fish was a water magnet or something. Every time she would nudge it away, it just seemed to flop back towards here. Hopefully he would hurry.

She even tried growling at the fish, but maybe they didn't have ears. In the end, it just seemed easier to put it back in her mouth, which was actually easier thought than done. After a moment, she managed to scoop it back up into her jaws, along with some grass and rocks. It felt weird, having something flopping around between her teeth, but at least she couldn't lose it this way.

Weldering Darksidy

It only took another two minutes until Weldering caught a second fish, that was all he needed. Pulling his fore-body from the water as it dripped from his black face and chest he managed to pick up both of the fish it a very awkward way barely managing it as he hobbled over towards Borlla on the grassy verge of the Heartleaf Creek. The mere sight of her with a tiny fish, grass and rocks in her mouth made him drop one of his fish as he chuckled. Now using his socked mitt to club it closer with a few kicks until finally it was placed aside the Swift River whelp. The other was laid down in front of his own paws ready to be devoured in a moments time.

"Why don't you try eating the one you caught, you'll like it." He suggested, lowering down his muzzle to begin delicately licking at the side of his fish before tearing off strips of it's meat. His blue still looking across over towards Borlla waiting to see what she did and also how she reacted.

Borlla Tainn-Argyris
This male must have had some weird fish mojo. While she'd managed to catch one measly fish, he'd come back with two! And it hadn't taken him as long to do it. She looked down at the fish that he'd caught for her, tail wagging slightly, and she spat out her own catch back on the grass. In the time between her getting the fish in her mouth to him joining her on the grass again, the fish had stopped moving. Borlla hadn't noticed that, but was infinitely pleased to see that the fish was now dead.

Now she had to eat it. She nervously met eyes with Welde, then looked down at the little lifeless fish. It hadn't tasted bad in her mouth, the texture was just funny. He'd already gone to work on his meal. And he'd taken the time to catch her a fish. She had to like it. She just had to. Her skinny tail nervously brushed the damp grass, before she leaned forward, trapping the fish in her mouth again and chewing. The pup hadn't taken into account for bones and the like, so she wasn't very far into chewing before she had to spit it out again, and pick carefully around the yucky parts. The fish was rather small though, and she wasn't very coordinated. Thankfully, it did actually taste good, just like he'd said. The bigger one would probably be easier to eat.

She made note of how he ate it, and tried it, using all her might to pull a strip of something off of the dead fish. Doing it in such an organized way didn't quite work for her, however, so she went to just pulled out chunks. It was messier but it worked. "It tastes really good!" She exclaimed through a mouthful of fish flesh. Her dark blue eyes trailed down to the mess of her own catch. "I think I'll take mine home. Save it!" The process of decay wasn't something Borlla knew about. In a day's time, no one would want to be anywhere near her and her mangled fish trophy.

He had a feeling that she would like fish, to this day he still had not met a wolf that did not like the taste. After all it was a form of meat and a substance that would keep them alive at the end of the day. He found it amusing how she went about eating her smaller catch yet he kept quiet and made sure not to laugh at her, only offer a smile as he ate his own. It was up to her to learn and get used to it herself rather then being told how to do everything. Already Weldering had polished off most of his own fish leaving the large bony spine behind and a few other smaller bones yet he ate as much as he possibility could, he could not afford to leave scraps behind. Though as Borlla now claimed she would save the rest he nodded while sitting up and licking his maw clean. A large fish enough to feed him was a lot for a tiny pup to eat in one session and maybe she could show her pack mates the fish and show them what she had learnt today. "Ok but don't save it for too long ok? It tastes better when it is fresh." He explained, which was the same for any food.

It was only then when the mention of her home was brought into play he wondered. "Does Indru know you are here? Does he let you wander off alone?" If Weldering was the leader he sure as hell would not have let Borlla drift away from the packlands without an escort.

She took another little bite of the bigger fish, wondering if she'd even be able to carry it home. Well, she'd have to. It was the best trophy she'd gotten yet, and she couldn't just leave it behind. Maybe she'd give it to Indru or Ruiko, since Welde said it would need to be fresh. Rotting fish wasn't something she'd ever smelled before, and it wasn't something she wanted to. Her tongue flipped around her muzzle, catching what was left of the fish she'd oh-so-messily eaten, and she flopped down, stretching out on her belly.

At his question, she whined. Why did it always have to come down to that? Was Welde going to get mad at her too? "Well, uhm..." She sat up again, puffing out her chest. "I'mma big girl." She could only support that for so long, and drooped shortly afterwards. A tiny shake of her head was the answer to his questions.

He was not planning on getting mad, she was after all not his responsibility. Though he was beginning to wonder what Indru was doing to allow her to just lope so casually about the country outside of Swift River territory. Did Borlla even know the dangers that lurked? "Big girl mmm?" He murred lifting up his right forepaw and attempting to ruffle up the fur upon the top of her small head. "You might be a big girl but there are things bigger then both of us out here. Bears, cougars, other wolves." Just listing a few threats before realising that even smaller things could be deadly for Borlla. "Even eagles, foxes, lynx... I could list quite a few things that would kill you quicker then you killed that fish." He did not wish to sound mean or too blunt but she needed to get the message he was trying to get across to her.

"Come on I'll walk you home." Rising up to all four of his paws now giving way to a stretch. He would make sure nothing happened to her and could not just leave her alone now.

Were those the monsters that lurked in the shadows? She'd seen birds before, but had been able to get out of their way. Of course, it had never really crossed her mind that a bird would try to eat her. She wasn't that small, was she? Bears and big cats though...Well, Borlla hadn't seen them before. She grunted as he ruffled her fur, but her tail went on wagging. She supposed his help was appreciated. But now she was almost afraid to go home.

"You won't tell Indru, will you? Sure, she smelled like fish, but water did run through Sacred Grove. Borlla grasped the fish her jaws, glad that she'd eaten at least some of it. It probably would have weighed a lot more otherwise. Ears pressed against her head, she waited for Welde to lead the way.

I'll start us a new thread <3

"No of course not." Partly wanting to gain her trust which would be among the first of the Tainn's and secondly because he did not wish to talk to Indru anyway. His muzzle shunting off in the direction of the Sacred Grove to point the way before picking up his paws and walking slowly to begin the journey.
