Perched on an errant boulder at the higher end of her home, she buried her paws into the snow that coated the rock to feel its rough surface beneath her pads. It was something she hadn’t allowed herself to do much of recently, lest her constant pawing of the ground she walked on came to be seen as some sort of nervous tick. It was a rare quiet moment for Naira as she allowed her thoughts to drift. Something deep down told her not all was well within her home, and she had a sneaking suspicion she knew the cause of her discomfort.
For once, she wasn’t afraid as she watched the Pass below painted red with the colour of the fading sun. She sat there, tall and proud as the sun sunk in the sky, stealing with it the last rays of warmth and she thought on all that had happened recently. Trying to see it all with a different set of eyes, perhaps her mothers eyes, or better yet - they eyes of her shrewd, ‘take no nonsense’ grandmother. And the more she pondered her predicament the more pissed off she became, between her bouts of concern.
@Rhysis’s words still swam about in her head, and the more she thought on them, the more her lips curled back in anger. Was she truly so weak to believe such rot? She could feel her whole body stiffening at the memory of what had happened, and even though if some small part of her hadn’t wanted it, she wouldn’t have fallen, she couldn’t help but be disgusted with herself. In her stomach her young squirmed as she finally acknowledged all that had been going on. Even from the very start.
After all they had been through, she couldn’t help but love some small part of him. But too much had changed between them already, and it wasn’t about to stop now.
