Her step found its bounce again when Tokino began to explain the game to her. After he explained, Aphrodite let it sink in for a moment, pondering it until it clicked. And then she nodded. This sounded like an excellent game! Her legs got a rest as he stopped to look around the landscape, and her nose twitched. He smelled funny. Her eyes lifted towards him, and the child smiled, tail wagging, desperately waiting for the first game. The hint he gave was rather vague, but Aphrodite knew she was a smart girl and wouldn't get it wrong so quickly! Running forward, she looked around. Something tall. Her ears twitched as her eyes searched, determined to find something tall. It was right under her nose! <b style="font-family:georgia; font-size:12px; color:#4F673B;">"Tree!" She jumped and spun around, bounding back towards Tokino. Aphrodite desperately hoped she was right, because she had the best idea when it was her turn. He would never guess, never ever. <b style="font-family:georgia; font-size:12px; color:#4F673B;">"Aphie right? Aphie's turn?" Her tail wagged swiftly behind her, and she turned away from him again, running ahead down the path. She wanted to take her turn, but she also wanted to get to this new home. Besides, it wasn't like they needed to stay in one place for Aphrodite to take her turn. |
Aye aye you got it! Tokino chuckled. Perhaps that one had been way too easy for her. Now it's your turn little miss. The gray man looked forward at the tree he'd spied for his turn. The downward arching branches almost touching the ground at their tips. It was an old gnarled bumpy green ash tree that had caught the males attention a few minutes ago.Glancing downwards Kino held a warm smile on his face as he noticed the girls eyes light up with her tail wagging excitedly behind her. She seemed so happy to have gotten the correct answer on the very first try. She's smart this one. Kino looked forward once more waiting for the girl to spy something of her own. His paws thumped noiselessly over the earth as the pair of canines traveled farther away from the mixed forest. More willows began to pop into his vision as the gray man led the way.
It's going to be a long way back. Probably a long day for me too.. Tokino sighed quietly to himself. He wondered what the reactions of his pack mates would be. The naive youngsters who ruled the meadows. Kino knew that they wouldn't kill the child or leave her for dead, but would the fledgling pack do right by her? Find her parents or try to keep her inside Whisper Caverns? Are her parents even looking for her? What a stupid question Tokino.. Of course they are. If they are good honorable parents like Yakova and FlowerFall were. Shaking his head free of his parents images Tokino traveled onward.
The man readied himself for what could be a very drama filled day ahead.
