“Athena, to you I turn to in the hope that you will continue to give my father the strength that he has always known, and that when he passes from this world that he finds solace in Elysium by your guidance.” It was likely foolish to hope for such things. Maybe the Goddess Athena did not even exist, but even if they were considered ‘mythological’, Rhaegar was a Greek. He was a DiSarinno and he would not let skeptics of the world outside of his family tell him different from what he believed. It was not required of Aether’s children to follow the faith that had carried their scarred father throughout the trials and victories of his life -- for their mother, March Owl, did not necessarily believe in Aether’s Gods. Faith in these sentient beings was a choice and just as his siblings that came before him, he had made his. Some chose to call themselves Redleaf’s; but never Rhaegar. The DiSarinno lined needed to continue; to give honor to those that had passed, his great-uncle Romulus, Great-Grandfather Sinistra, his grandmother, Athena, his uncle Crete and Cerberus, his aunt Attica. Though Rhaegar had never known them, some of which he’d never had the chance to meet, he felt connected to them all. Through the Gods, and blood. Perhaps “praying” for his father to go to Elysium when he passed from the physical world was a fool’s errand. If that was the consensus then Rhaegar would volunteer be the fool.

Frosted, pale blue eyes set in striking contrast against his smoky black fur, peered up into the star littered sky, tracing the elegant scripture that he had been fascinated with since pup-hood for any signs that the great virgin Goddess had heard and acknowledged his prayer. “And if Elysium isn’t possible for him, at least see that he is reunited with those precious to him that he has lost.” Aether, for all the wrong he’d done, had done plenty of good. He deserved to see the loved ones he had watched perish in the after-life, where ever that may have lied for him.

Soft sigh was given before Rhaegar’s attention turned back to the enigmatic path before him. Relic Lore. These lands were new, foreign to him, yet this was not seen as a bad thing. Though he was more alone than he’d ever been before, he was a DiSarinno and he would find a way to prosper.
