Inali was asleep in the main den of the cavern, oblivious to the raging storm brewing outside. Two calls broke through her barrier of sleep, her ears pricking forward in attention. She blinked awake, the words of Narime and the barks of Sloane finally registering.
Barking loudly, her voice echoed through the caverns. It was a message to any of her fellow pack mates inside the caves. Their alphas needed them.
Standing on all four limbs, the young woman stretched quickly, her paws itching to run outside and help the family that graciously took her in.
Inali's paws quickly took her out of the den, and the woman lifted her head up to the sky. The rumble of thunder and the sound of crackling lightning made her fur stand on end. Bringing her head back to normal level, her blue orbs spotting the leading family of Whisper Caverns, a little ways a way.
The woman used her natural speed to reach them, weaving through the now familiar trees of her home. Her lithe body bowed slightly in respect to her alphas as she finally reached them.
Her eyes landed warmly upon the smallest pup, Yuka. She had grown fond of him, even though they only met once. "The others will come soon. I'll take Yuka. How's it going Big Guy?" Her last sentence was directed to the pup himself, using the special nickname she had given him. She sent him a smile of reassurance and licked his muzzle affectionately. She wanted him to know that he was safe with her. They all were.
Her head lowered again as her jaws opened and clamped softly onto the furry layer of the pups neck. Her grip was strong enough that he wouldn't be able to fall, and light enough so that she wouldn't hurt him.
Turning from her alphas, she gave a warm nod to the other two pups. Her head lifted to the sky as another bolt of lightning struck down, close enough that it made her flinch slightly. She knew rain would pour soon. And it would pour hard.
Her legs stretched as she ran back to the caverns. She hoped they would all be inside the den before it started to rain.
