He had been doing one of his daily border patrols, but after almost an hour, he had given up. Just doing anything reminded him of Shade’s death. He had died just over a week ago, yet he still grieved for his lots alpha and friend. The only comfort he could think of was Silver, but he never seemed to be able to find her. Whether it was because she was scouting out the area, or if it was his wacky timetable. He usually had no time to lallygag, but this time he just couldn’t do it. Concentrating on marking the borders just seemed like a chore to him right then, so he decided to stop. Remembering his spot for when he would continue, the Pitch Pine Leader turned around and headed to the place that he had first met Silver; Clandestine Brook.
Coming upon the brook, Ace stared down into the water that ran by. His appearance wasn’t too bad, save for the sad expression on his face. He felt like he needed Silver to be there with him, but whenever he caught her scent in Pitch Pine Trail’s territory, it just led him around in circles and mingled with the rest of the pack’s members. Whenever he searched for her in the den site, her scent trail led back to the rest of his territory. It almost frustrated him to know that Silver was very close by, but that he couldn’t find her.
The Pitch Pine Leader felt like lifting his creamy white muzzle up to the heavens and calling for his Silver Angel to come to his rescue. But something held him back, although what, he didn’t know. Sighing softly, he tore his silver eyes away from his saddened reflection and glanced around almost hopefully. Maybe she was around somewhere and was searching for him, just like he did every day, but failed to actually find her. “My Silver Angel, I miss you, and I will always love you, no matter what.”
would protect you forever
