@Erebos

A lone figure sat in the middle of the meadow, her tawny coat looking stark against the white of the snow in the dark. Her muzzle face the sky and golden eyes were transfixed by what she saw, a mural of a million colours dancing amongst themselves. Almost as if there was a mirror upon the ground the snow sparkled and reflected the colours, a dance all their own. Minka sat still, her own fur becoming a piece of the puzzle, as if she too belonged in the sky with the lights. Closing her eyes for a moment her heart soared, her body bathed in green and red as her body writhed through the air the stars all around her. Opening her golden eyes disappointment filled her to see that she had not in fact moved but was still seated alone in the meadow.

So many memories were with her now, watching the lights with Inali on her birthday, back when her heart was stolen by a dark stranger. Being a pup and watching the lights with her siblings, their hearts so naive and full of hope for what their future would hold. Truthfully she had come so far from when she was a yearling, now she was a strong and confident leader, she had plans, she would be having pups of her own. So what if the father of her children would not be her mate? Tokino was honest and loyal, he would raise her pups with a fair hand and she knew he wouldn't abandon them. What more could she possibly want? Anything more was just selfish and foolish, and she would be a fool no longer.

Follow the lights.

They were his only guide now, as every step made took him farther away from the woman, @Elettra, that took him in despite the desperate scarcity. He had entered the agreement with every intention of keeping his word, but the days had passed without any sign of food, and dispassion took its course. He had begun by increasing his reach, wandering farther, covering more grounds in hopes of picking up anything; and then one day he didn't turn back, didn't even throw a glance over his shoulder to consider what he was leaving behind.

Now he was once more homeless and hungry, but Erebos found he did not care. There was nothing for the man to strive for but himself, and to keep a body alive was minimal and did not require any sort of emotion. It left him a wandering ghost. But he could still appreciate beauty.

Eyes that once blazed were transfixed upon the sky as his legs carried him farther away from the promises he'd made. It was a double rarity, that the sky would be so clear and the colors be present and so vivid. They filled the sky in the form of thick ribbons, and seemed to touch the earth. He felt the energy that caused them to waver and glimmer, felt it pull at his fur. Beneath his paws, the ground shifted, something crunched underfoot as the forest gave way to a deadened meadow coated in snow. The seemingly permanent precipitation strove to mimic the dazzling show above, pulling the colors in and making them its own so that the glow radiated from both above and below. And then he looked ahead.

The spell of comforting solitude was broken, but only to be replaced by one equally as strong. Before him reclined a stranger, her earthy coating soaking up the light in an ethereal way. She was slight, especially in comparison to his own stature, and held upon her face the most charming look of awe. To him, in that moment, she was just as alluring as the heavenly display that put them both there. Erebos did not falter, but continued closer, though he was no longer following the aurora. He was approaching her head on, a mobile motley of grey-scale tinged blue and green, silent and unassuming in his posture.

The hope in her eyes stood as antithesis to the void that was within his as he spoke.

"May I join you?"

Minka had become so wrapped up in the lights above her that she didn't notice the stranger until he spoke. The woman startled slightly and a blush crept up her neck at how easily she had been scared, but she nodded to his question. "Of course, I'm glad I'm not the only one witnessing the beauty of the night," usually the alpha was more reserved but her memories had for once stripped down the wall. Tonight she would not worry about the threats that Ash had laid upon her, or whether Inali would come with her or not, or whether Narimé would hate her, tonight she needed to just be. Perhaps the only way to do that would be watch the lights with this stranger, the fae trusted that the fates would lead her down the right path.

Golden eyes looked over the form of this male, his build was much larger than her own, which was unsurprising. Most of the males she had met in this land towered over her and she had learned to not be intimidated by the size difference. His eyes burned orange beneath the lights, reminding her of summer suns as they set against a red sky. He carried the scent of a lone wolf, only his own musk and that of trees, dirt, rocks and water no other's scent lingered upon him. Breaking eye contact Minka looked away, focusing once more upon the sky as it danced above them, the last person she had watched the lights with had been Inali and now she wasn't sure the same bond existed. Maybe tonight she would form a new bond, maybe the lights were a sign that she should let others in instead of shutting them out, maybe.

Erebos Argyris
He watched her, from the slight start his presence gave her to the passive welcome to the faint resolution that passed through her eyes as she returned them to the skies. When she was silent and still once more, he took a place beside her, reclining before lifting his own sights yet again to the show above. And then he felt nothing but calm. It was a blessed kind of peace; his mind did not wander, did not pile together the negative things and suffocate him with him. He did not think of family, of failed adventure, of the disloyalty that he could not avoid but to exemplify. Instead his thoughts were silent, comfortable. A small smile worked its way into his features.

But as wonderful as the silence was, he found he wanted to conversate. It had been a long time since the sociable Erebos had been around, yet at this moment he found himself curious about the woman next to him, as he used to be about every soul that crossed his path. He wanted to know about her life; and so he asked.

"If you're out alone, perhaps you were here to think? Mind if I ask what I've interrupted?"

He asked his questions while maintaining eye contact with the blinking stars above, his voice unassuming and passive. If she did not wish to speak but merely enjoy the scene above, he would oblige. And if she chose to spoke, he would eagerly soak up everything she had to say without judgment.

The silence embraced them both as they sat still in the night, two pairs of eyes trained upon the colours of the sky. As the moments wore on Minka found her mind was finally empty, no longer was she chasing worry after worry, instead was a peaceful nothing. She used to think having an empty head was useless, only for airheads or vapid wolves who had no sense to them, but she found now that thinking nothing was well, nice. A small contented smile flitted across her maw as she stared upwards, so strange was this whole moment, so different than what her life had become from her own doings. The males voice shattered the silence but it was such an even baritone that the alpha didn't mind and for a moment Minka wondered what exactly it was that he had interrupted.

Sighing the golden eyes looked downwards and to the stranger who sat beside her, for that was what he was; a stranger. It seemed odd that she would consider telling him her troubles and yet that was what she was doing. Though this was far from her typical behaviour, perhaps it was the lights that had swayed her choice she began. "I am leader of a nearby pack and have taken a mate from within the rankings, but this man does not lead by my side. We decided that out of respect for the male who currently leads and the woman who once led before me that we would leave and found a pack of our own. Perhaps the thought that this would be happy news was foolish but it seems that we have unwittingly started a civil war, one we will surely lose." Golden eyes watched the males face for some kind of response, some kind of reaction to this tale before turning once more to the sky. She murmured into the colours of the night, "Now you know my troubles you might as well know my name, I'm Minka Lagina," It was only now that her mind went into hyper drive. This male seemed strong enough, he seemed to be fairing well in this dreadful winter and he was a loner, he could be a valuable asset to them all. Her muzzle turned to face him, studying his features before stating, "To be blunt, we are recruiting and it seems you have no pack of your own, if you wish to change this I suggest you say so now, the more numbers we collect the sooner we will all be safe."
