She was at the border again, hunching her shoulders against the damp breeze. The discomfort was nowhere near enough to drive her away. Letting her burnished gold gaze drift across the landscape, aimlessly catching on everything that marred the partially melted snow. She knew every emerging bluff and tree stub. Movement shifted in the beyond and Iopah only looked blankly at it. That branch sometimes shifted when the breeze blew strongly enough... as it was now. She had become preoccupied with watching the border and waiting for Hollow to return.

She was finally coming to terms with the idea that he wasn't coming back. Days ago, when he first went missing, her knee-jerk reaction had been to start searching. It had taken less time than she needed to reach the borders to realize what a foolish idea it was. She had no path to follow. The storm had made sure of that. Whatever steps had been taken and scent had been left the storm had blown away and then covered with a new layer of snow.

Slowly, as though in a trance, she looked over her shoulder towards home. She was looking into the wind now, and the shock made her eyes water. Her family was her physical life-line. If she ever vanished like this it could only mean she laying stiff somewhere. She hoped they knew.

There were things they needed of her: Hunting, defending the borders, helping to raise the pups. A fresh wave of anguish pressed her ears flat to her skull. She whined delicately at a sudden image of dark-furred blue-eyed pups. She had to go back, if only to reassure herself that they were all safe and present. And she would, in just a moment.

Kashikoi
Kashikoi was recovering even if it was slightly slower than he would of liked. However it was spring now and with spring it also meant the coming of new life and recovery. It had been nearly half a year since he had last walked around these very borders and even longer since he did the same to the borders of copper rock creek when it was still a pack. He supposed that was why he had chosen to walk around the borders now that the weather was beginning to look up and the snow was beginning to melt slowly. Although the wind was damp and chilly it did not deter him from enjoying his walk around the border.

Pausing a moment to rest, he took the moment to shake his fur dry of the moisture beads that were starting to form on his thick fur. It was then that the strong wind blew in rustling his fur and also bringing with it a familiar scent, one that he hadn't smelled for a long time either. Cutting his rest short he started to run against the wind determined to get to the origin of the scent blowing strongly in the wind. It was then that the creme female wolf named Iopah came into sight for him. Speeding up a bit he ran as fast as he could muster his body too before slowing to a stop in front of her. "Iopah, it's me Kashi, It's been a while since we last met hasn't it been?"
