Enoki was in full hunting mode now as her slender frame made easy leaps over the knolls that left obstacles in her way towards the young doe that now had two wolves giving it chase. How could she be so careless and let a twig ruin the hunt? 'Maybe if Mordacai wasn't so hot headed and got me riled up.' she thought to herself as her paws kept melting the distance between her and the target. Where had that thought come from? That was a strange thing for her to think and was far from her typical behavior. God what was going on?
So wrapped up in her own thoughts the growl to erupted from her brothers mouth went unheard, not knowing whether it was directed at her or the doe that sprinted with all its might to try and reach the safety of the herd and bordering tree line. There was still the chance to save the hunt and follow the plan Mordacai had set up. Yeah, he would hold the deer down for her to land the killing blow. Surely he wouldn't mind the last minute winging of the hunt if his plans were still successful and the doe was caught. Well that wasn't the case as both swarthy wolves lunched for the doe's jugular that was now within distance, a sickening crunch sounding as the two collided head first. Enoki saw stars dance before her eyes as her body fell in a pile of legs on the ground, a throbbing starting to arise where the siblings heads had connected. Scrambling to her feet a single paw rose to rub soothingly at the tender spot while her amber gaze focused on the fleeing figure of the young deer that lived to see another day. It escaped.
They failed. Impossible.. As quick as lightening she whirled her body to face her brother who was just now managing to regain his own footing, teeth barred in annoyance. "What the hell was that?!" Anger lined her words as they were spat from her mouth, ears laid back in an equal display of annoyance. It was an easy hunt and they failed! "You were suppose to anchor the doe so I could bite the jugular!" Adrenaline still pumping through her veins she turned away from the younger Ashrelle, pacing along a fictional pathway that rimmed the top of a small knoll. Why didn't he do what he was suppose to do? The plan was flawless and even though they had a small hiccup from the twig snapping it still held a high chance of success, but no he had to go and blow it by trying to be the big hero to save the hunt. What a fool!
