Makita Kokki
OOC: She lives! <3

Makita was shocked as her own words escaped her dark black lips. She was alive. After the bear's dark claws slashed though her shoulder, slicing against her bone. After the Swift River female (who she really did despise) sunk her teeth into her flank. After Makita had prepared herself so unwillingly for her unexpected death... She was still sitting here, drenched in her own blood, taking in the foul smell of the thick red liquid that wafted in the air. Her sides were still rising and falling in labored pants. Golden eyes still blinked on her face. I.. am.. alive.

"I'm glad to hear that, little one. Let me go get you something to eat now that you've woken up. Don't move about too much, your wounds are only clotted, not healed." Vlar's soft words traveled to her ears and Makita wanted to giggle and jump up and down. She was alive! Vlarindara was still here, too! She wasn't some lying, cheating scumbag! What a relief! "T-thanks," Makita chirped, though her stutter was obvious. Speaking was very, very difficult for the young yearling.

Without giving Makita a chance to argue, the large white Vlarindara disappeared from the den entrance. Makita's golden eyes watched her until she couldn't see her anymore, and then she turned her muzzle around to lick some of her wounds some more. Like Vlar ordered, she tried not to move too much. Becoming impatient quickly, Makita swiveled her head back around and let it fall onto her paws, blowing out a quick breath of air. Finally, Vlar appeared again at the entrance of her den. Makita's eyes fell to stare at her paws as she saw that Vlarindara did not have any prey in her jaws. Bad hunt? she was about to say, but Vlarindara leaned her head forward and regurgitated some of the prey she had caught.

Oh, eww! would've been Makita's first thought, but instead it was Oh thank you so freaking much Vlar! The white wolf had regurgitated a meal, like a mother did to her pups, much softer so that Makita could easily swallow it. Without hesitation, Makita leaned over to begin her meal, smiling up at Vlarindara. "T-thanks,"

Vlarindara

OOC: Owwie.. short post is short. XD

Pleased the female had the appetite to eat and smile at her, Vlarindara nodded her head while a soft grin touched her muzzle. "There's...no need to thank me, Makita.." If only she hadn't left the two during their conversation.. she might have seen the bear.. even heard the bear and could have warned the pups.. This wouldn't have happened had she simply been more insistent! Settling her haunches to the snow in the front of the hole, Vlarindara steeled herself to wait... to repeat the process of hunting for the yearling.. of guarding her overnight. ... of caring for her..until she could move enough to be able to assist her towards her previous destination. "Did you have anywhere in mind, Makita? Any wolves who might be waiting for you, or any that might worry if you were gone so long? I could find and tell them for you, if you wish."

OOC: It's all good. :3

Makita grabbed the regurgitated meal in small bites. She could taste squirrel and a bit of something else, mice probably. The little tawny female really did not care at all what her meal was, but the simple fact that it was quenching her hunger. As she swallowed the meal, which she did not have to strain to pull of the bones, Vlarindara's voice rang once more in her ears, which swiveled to listen carefully. "Theres.. no need to thank me, Makita." In truth, Makita was surprised not to have heard 'little one' instead of her own name. But, the fact that her name did escape the dark lips of Vlar made her smile.

"Y-yes t-the-re i-s." Makita would've gone on to say tell her how she saved her life, sat vigil at the den entrance, fed her meals like these (as if she was Makita's own mother), and was providing her with the care she needed to survive, but that would've took too long and Makita didn't have the strength to speak many words. Instead, the female glanced once up at Vlar and then leaved over to very gently lick her massive white paw. It was a symbol of trust. At the moment, Makita trusted Vlar more than anyone (except for her family, of course, who happened to possibly be dead).

As Makita slowly leaned back, she wondered what it would have been like if someone had told her the bear was behind her. Maybe the big hearted she wolf could have, because Makita was as sure as daylight the other wasn't going to speak. But, life was about choices. It was also about mistakes, which helped her to learn. If the she wolf had turned around and told her, Makita wouldn't be so hurt, but she would also not have met Vlarindara and learned to trust her the way she had.

Then, Vlar spoke of where she needed to go. Makita froze, letting her head fall back onto her paws. Just before the bear attack, she had been with a large, multi-colored wolf named Borden. He had promised her a home with Midnight Plateau, but Makita had gotten left behind and met Vlar and Kinis. When Vlar asked if any wolves would be worried or if she needed to be with a certain wolf, Makita wanted so desperately to say Borden. Maybe, just maybe, Vlar would know the wolf and she would be safe. Borden was probably waiting for her anyway. A little burst of excitement ran through her veins as she remembered that she would be going to live with Borden and his pack. She didn't know she was hopelessly wrong about that. "B-Borden.. Midni-ight Plate-au." replied Makita gently, her stutters obvious.
