With his answer, Jessie looked away, a satisfied smirk painting her lips. Perhaps teaching the other man would not be as bad as she originally had thought. Like it or not, he had somehow wormed his way into her life and she would have to accept it. However, if he made the mistake of going against her words then he would have hell to pay. The Tainn was not one for socializing, there was only business to be attended to. And if someone could not find something to do then it would be easy to come up with a new task. There was no stopping when it came to Jessie, even when she had been waiting for Drestig. She had been testing his loyalty and while he had failed that task, he had still done well in everything else, he just had to learn.

While Jessie was not thrilled to meet her mate upon her return, the Tainn’s wanderlust had been satiated and she felt the large need to return home. Even though they harbored bad news for Triell, they also brought information home with them. Hopefully, the other news would overshadow the bad, but for some reason, Jessie doubted it. Silently, the Avalon and Tainn made their way home, a comfortable silence remaining between them.

Perhaps this life had given her a gift by giving her Drestig as her companion. She would be able to cut her trips in half and would have some muscle to back her up along the way. Nayeli had done right in asking Jessie to allow Drestig to accompany her. It only proved to the Tainn how capable the young woman was becoming. It was an honor to be able to serve under her and she would continue to do so until her dying breath.
