A few days had passed since Vespertio Vuesain and Athena Moon ventured up into the lower elevation of the Mountain of Dire to watch the sun set from a special vantage point the Moon woman held dear to her heart and kept secret from others, discussing the future of their soon to be pack and whatever it was going on between the two wolves. It was a place she had visited often during her previous reign of Poison Path and a hobby she often delved in with her mother as a pup growing up. Now a solid week had come and went since the duo scouted the lakeside for a perfect location to call home, to plant their roots for future generations to come. A place to rest their paws at the end of the day and they had done just that.
A natural cave of sorts was the soon to be den location for the Fallen Tree Cove, deriving its name from the fallen trees that littered a large formation of boulders that were ripped down from the mountainside just to the north of the lake. These trees wove their limped branches together to form a blind or curtain per say that shielded the entrance of the cave from prying eyes and eyes that didn't know better than to look beyond the surface. At first Vesper had fallen victim to the illusion until his partner in crime, Athena, poked through the curtains and discovered the vast open cavern that would serve well for a pack of wolves to seek shelter in whenever mother nature decided to release her fury on the world. Again, it had been a week since its discovery and now it was time to rally the troops, show them their new humble abode and stake claim to their lands.
Excitement fueled each step the dark saddled man took and shown bright in his golden gaze. This was finally it. All the hard work and patience to build this dream of his, of Athena's, of all of their followers was beginning to prove worth it. This made his mighty crown crane to steal a glance at the small harem of wolves that rallied behind him, his ivory queen strutting equal in pace at his side. The journey was not an easy one and the toil of travel showed on their faces underneath the same excitement that filled his steps. They too without a doubt were excited to be heading home for the first time, pushing through the tiredness and hunger that ached their paws and bellies. 'Soon, my soldiers. Soon you will need not worry about anything.' The Vuesain man thought to himself before bringing his thick coated frame to a halt, briefly turning his body to address his members. "It isn't much further to the den site, but I think a rest may be appreciated before the last leg of the journey."
As he stood there he allowed his golden gaze to grace over the faces of his members. First they settled on the icy blue orbs of Andromache, Athena's sister. She was his first and only recruit so far. Boy that was one interesting predicament when he brought her back to Athena and the two sisters ended up in a scuffle. His lips pulled back into the faintest of smirks at the thought before moving his gaze onward, this time falling on the swarthy pelted woman who he had noticed become Athena's shadow. Silver was her name and had previously left the ranks of Whisper Caverns in order to join in the ivory woman's plans to start a pack of her own. Vesper gave a small nod in her direction then moved on to gaze at Athena. What a sight to behold she was. Marred and ugly to most, but beautiful and powerful to him. He was still getting use to the odd sensations and feelings she arose in him, refusing to admit they existed, but that didn't affect how proud he was to have a strong, driven woman such as her to rule beside. Their group was small, but it was a start. It would take more hard work to build their numbers in the face of the coming winter, but he knew his members were capable of the task.
