The Diminutive Ivory She-wolf sniffed curiously at the creeping vines the hung from far above. After discerning that they were completely harmless – only mossy leaves, after all – she pushed past their hanging forms that covered and shrouded the spring she had been searching for. Well, not exactly searching for it, but a place where she could drink from. Her journey from Black Thorn Downs territory hadn’t exactly been arduous, but thirst had claimed her swiftly after her venture from the borders, and so she took the first chance at soothing her parched tongue and mouth. Lowering her muzzle into the cool water of the spring, she drank deeply, savoring the sweet taste upon her lips.
Stepping back from the bank of the spring, Vera licked her lips and glanced at the mediocre size of the body of water. It was one of the freshest that she had tasted, and upon looking closer she could see the silver shines of fish scales. Putting the spring to memory for a later date, the Diminutive Ivory She-wolf back away from it, pushed past the creeping vines once more and snuffled around the area for and prey or herbs that could be nearby. Her hopes were dashed when she couldn’t scent any traces of small or large animals nearby. It would have been a good gift to give to the leaders of Black Thorn Downs, as she had yet to meet them, with the exception of Tokino, but she didn’t count gaining entrance to the pack by a leader as meeting them.
She barked in excitement upon finding the orange and brown leaves of a skunkbush. With winter upon them, Vera hadn’t expected to find any of the herb. The pack would need it, especially as it relieved cold symptoms, which would be a large problem for them during the winter. “I can take this back to Florence, he’d be really happy with this,” she murmured under her breath before gently picking the stems of the herb as to not crush any of the leaves. She could do without the bitter and displeasing aroma on the trek back home.
