Anthem ColdHeart
-This thread will be back dated a couple of days-

The snow had finally stopped. It was his first thought of the day, one that he was almost happy about. Blue eyes went to the heavens to see the clouds that lumbered over head. He could tell that they were laden with snow. Ready to drop it at a moments notice. Standing the dark male shook himself of the snow that had fallen overnight. Yawning he stretched his legs and then tensed his back muscles before relaxing again. Though his stomach was growling in hunger Anthem decided that it would be best to find someone who was in the area, but if he found something to hunt along the way that would be perfectly fine.

Setting off at a brisk pace he weaved among the trees and snow covered ferns. There was a strange stillness in the air and he didn't like it. Ever season had its noises and sounds that went along with it. Today even the wind was silent. Pausing on a small fern covered hill he took a look around him. Nothing was moving and the birds were silent. A crunching noise had his head turning to see a small form making its way through the snow.

Silently he watched it eyes narrowing. A badger? He may have been hungry but he knew that trying to hunt one of those was going to be a challenge, especially alone. Yet his stomach growled again and he decided that he was at least going to follow it. If anything he could take its meal from it or find its den and then he would try to kill it. But know was not the right time to go after it. So he followed it among the trees careful not to get to close.

Elodie Ciara
Elodie snapped happily at the snow. Back in her home territory, most of the weather was rain so it was a rare experience for her and she was more than happy to comply. Several patches of white snow gripped to her light brown coat as she gradually passed through the forest, rolling in the blanket of white as she went. Admittedly it was cold and she often had the urge to sneeze but nonetheless she continued to make her way through the forest. It was times like these that made Elodie happy to be a lone wolf; she was unsure of the freedom she would be granted if, or when, she eventually joined a pack. Looking up at the sky, Elodie almost cheered in joy at the sight of the cloud bobbing above her head, waiting to collapse upon her with mountains and mountains of snow. Diving and rolling through the snow once more, Elodie's red and light brown eyes pricked up as she caught an odd crunching sound in the distance. She lowered her small figure into the snow and watched the direction of the sound. It was only a badger. Whining ever so slightly, Elodie rose to her full, but short, height and crept towards the creature just as it begun to walk away.

She froze suddenly, but not from the snow. A large wolf caught her sight in the distance. His fur was dark but he was undoubtedly older, and probably slightly wiser, than Elodie. She took a brief whiff of the air, trying to determine a scent. The packs she had seen so far in Relic Lore each had a particular scent whereas this wolf's scent seemed undetermined. As the male wolf began to follow the badger, Elodie snuck behind him, observing his movements to decide if he was a threat to her. Snap! Elodie winced and glanced down, staring in dread at the snapped twig beneath her left paw.

Anthem ColdHeart
Wood snapped behind him and Anthem twisted his head around as he paused. He had thought that he was alone and his blue eyes finally landed on the young grey wolf. He considered what he should do. Continue on after the badger and try to kill it when he could? Or talk to the wolf that had been following him. He gave an internal shrug as he called out. You coming? He merely assumed that she was following the badger and him but he didn't know for sure. Turning back towards the badger he continued to follow it. The creature unconcerned about its surroundings still kept going and was a ways away. Anthem let the distance remain as it was if the other smaller wolf wanted to talk then they would need to be a little farther back from the creature.

Dark ears swiveled as he listened to see if the younger wolf would follow him or just leave him a lone. Either way he was following the badger. His stomach gurgled softly and he sighed. Such was the life of a lone wolf. Hunger always knocking at the door and the elements just behind it. Yet nothing bound them to another and they could remain free of the politics of pack life. It was one of the greatest gifts that anyone could have. It was also the deadliest.

Living alone could kill you if you couldn't find food and most packs that he knew of wouldn't share what they had with an almost died loner. Maybe the packs in this new area were different though. He didn't know and since he didn't intend to starve he wouldn't find out.
