Oh, this was bad, bad bad, very bad.
Oh, yes, Datura should have never tried to take his brilliant little red star from him, that was true. His father shouldn't have been so aggressive with his collar that he'd been halfway to strangling the yearling. If it wasn't death by asphyxiation, it would have been paralysis when the larger wolf snapped his neck and left him limp and lifeless on the cold ground.
Really, if that great, golden ass hadn't harassed him in the first place, he'd have never been forced to flee for his life! And really, that was what this was, a matter of life and death. Gilligan could only hope his adoptive patriarch would see it as such, that he had been forced to run. Unfortunately, his 'great' sense of direction had not allowed the ginger male to navigate his way back out of Relic Lore, seeking out the temporary shelter he and his golden idol had taken over.
He was certain, however, that he needed to cross over this mountain to get back out of the forest, and there he'd find find Datura once more. The pass was really only a blessing, for the yearling probably wouldn't have found it on his own if he'd tried. A blessing from who? From those who worshipped the stars, just like himself, and for this reason he followed the way until his belly started to growl – and then the wolf came to a slow halt, airplane ears out to the side as he whined loudly. He could really use his guardian right about now.
"Dataurrraaaa? Where the hell are you?"
