Her immediate instinct was to give chase. That he had screamed the way that he did said it all in her mind - that he was an easy target to take advantage of, that she could pin him down and make him spill all the secrets of the world just by snapping her jaws at his nose. Who would say what he might scream if she actually reached out and bit him. Why he'd probably lead her straight to the den of his alpha's pack if indeed he did have one, and while he whipped behind her and started to run she turned and started after at a lazy pace, just enough that as he looked back he'd see her building speed. Then he struck the air with a name that she had not been expecting. For all the talk of dragons and threads she hadn't actually given any credence to the thought that he might come out and screech the name that had been gifted to the most unworthy of her two sons. @Kjors. He existed. It wasn't a name that could be mistakenly heard or one that was likely to have been given to someone else. Not when there had been talk of dragons. There was no doubt now. She knew. Kjors was alive - and he was somewhere close. The chase ended at that. The elder woman was a little too old to be chasing young boys, and a little too shocked to know what she might do if she caught him, short of tearing his throat from his neck as a warning to the boy that had slain his own brother in cold blood. She'd come into some shocking information, and now was left with nothing but time to think about it. The strange male would no doubt run back to Kjors with the news, but would Kjors know the difference? She hadn't given her name, so she was at an advantage as far as she saw it. She knew that Kjors was around... but he had no idea that she even existed..."This is speech." |
