DATED: 1/20*
- Midday, at the western end of the Palisade

No trace, not even the faintest. He had been too late, to late in realizing her absence, to late set out on this hunt. Any tracks left by @Karina when she passed through were long gone. But her brother had no other choice, nothing else to go on, and he refused to turn back; I promised! And there was no going back on that. He was not gonna let her go! Wouldn't let her disappear like Aleksei, leave their family irreparably broken; How could she do this?! There was no point to the question, not only would brooding over it not bring her back, but he was pretty sure he already knew the answer.

Orren Baranski was on a mission, a search. After departing from Hearthwood River and the forest of Kingsfall, he had headed southward, trailing essentially the same route back as they had taken a year earlier. There was no sign that his sister had passed the same way, but that didn't deter him, he knew where she was headed! Still, as he neared the dreaded highlands, he began to worry. How close would she have gone, would she have completely disregarded their parents' warning? Surely not, surely… But he wasn't all that sure honestly, even more than himself, his eldest sister seemed to govern with her heart above her head, and he feared she would have walked right to the doorstep of their neighbors, to find what she was looking for.

Might he have to do the same to find her? He hoped not. For now he tried to look on the positive side: At least he would soon be out of this dreaded ravine. The Palisade had far been his least favorite part of their journey from Cedarwood forest, and it had grown no more likable since. Narrow and with only light vegetation, the sides steep and bottom uneven, requiring a much more skillful and agile approach than he was able of presenting, unless you wanted to get frozen, wet paws from trudging through the water all the way. Which was what he had been doing. And he longed for dry feet and trees to take cover in, as well as more plentiful prey; It's not long now..! And hopefully he would soon find a sign of Karina too.
