Reyes scowled audibly, his pointy ears folding back against his skull as the snowflakes continued to dance down from the sky, dusting over his dark coat. He knew what it was, of course, but prior to entering the Wildwoods, the lone wolf had only encountered it a time or two, and those events had been a few flakes, and only in passing. This, though. This never seemed to end! Maybe the clouds would clear up for a day or two, but it always seemed to come back around. Even rain would be better than this.
“Anything would be better than this,” the wolf muttered crossly to himself, trotting across the forest floor. The fresh snow crunched beneath his paw pads as he slowed to a stop, ears swiveling as he listened to something in the distance. Even as he lifted his nose, Reyes couldn’t exactly pinpoint what he heard – or who. If it was a who, really. Ears shifted again and the man’s cheeks puffed out as he began to chuff, dropping his head lower as pale eyes stared into the thick forest. “Who’s there?” he demanded gruffly. “What the hell do you want?”
