She swore he was going to pass out with all his coughing and him not able to catch his breath. He couldn't stop which didn't help the growing sense of guilt that pitted inside her gut. If only she didn't push him to grow angry, then he wouldn't be hurting right now. It seemed as of late, all she was good at was hurting him. She once thought she'd always and forever have his back - which she still knew she would no matter what she felt. But now, Adelayde wasn't doing him any good anymore. He had @Reyes for that, she guessed. He was the one that had rescued him and all, killing the monster that was Askan's uncle, while she was off sneaking out to see @Laike. She was just a terrible, terrible friend.
Perhaps she should leave. He was better off, anyway.
As he wheezily told her to leave, her brows furrowed in concern and guilt as she watched him struggling. All she wanted to do was help. Realizing the only way for her to stop hurting him in this moment was to leave, her seafoam eyes blinked frantically as she bid away some stray tears. Quickly hiding her face, she turned and rushed away from the chocolate wolf. She didn't stop running until she was past the rye borders and out into the desolate lowlands where she had the least chance of hurting someone.
