Idris Lockelake

Harmiously malcontent - it seemed inevitable that he should be so quiet and reserved. The Edge was cozy and comforting, yet the social aspect of it he wasn't quite so sure. They were homey individuals that had their own posses and Idris didn't want to disrupt that or force them to include him. After all, it wasn't like he had been the most fun individual to hang around. He spent a lot of his time scouting around the vicinity of the Edge, doing what he assumed Askan would ask of him seeing as the last time they had talked he had been sent on a mission that had come back negative for anything remotely worthwhile. Aside from the pretty white girl in the woods, of course. At least with being back where he considered home was nice - walking along in the busy, crowded woods at sundown. The trees above him emanating an orange-y glow.

It wasn’t easy staying in one place. The tawny Selwyn was used to wandering beyond the Edge borders, with or without his greyscale partner in crime. Collecting information, lurking, hunting… keeping busy. But confining himself to the territory… Sachiel felt limited. Trapped. The shallows were starting to feel orange-red, and it wasn’t just the sunset. So, the boy did want any antsy teenager did: he paced. Meandered along the edge of the territory, his paws threatening to tiptoe over the invisible line. The last time he had ventured beyond pack territory he encountered an unsettling amount of coyotes—all far too close for comfort. It was why he chose to remain within the shallows unless he was in the company of another. Somehow Sachiel had become a coyote-magnet and he did not know if he would be as lucky as he had been if he encountered more.

He hadn’t noticed the dark yearling yet; his mind was filled with shades of orange as he struggled to keep himself confined to the territory. He made a mental note to seek out Hawthorne—it had been too long since the duo had gone out on an adventure and faced some estranged coyotes. Or anything

Idris Lockelake

Perhaps it was simply in his nature to seek to be lonely - that he was the culprit behind feeling like he wasn't much of anything. Idris floated, seamlessly, in the gray area between dependent and independent. A trait he no doubt got from his parents but had never truly separated into one category. He wanted to be a part of a pride but it almost felt too limiting, even as an aspiring scout. So when the opportunity arose to socialize, seeing Sachiel not too far away, the dark boy pondered thoughtfully. The boy wonder was still an enigma to Idris, and without much need for the question he wondered if Hawthorne was nearby to lend the blue-yellow eyed boy some company. A swift look around and Idris was sure that Hawthorne was not present which made this a little easier for him.

Idris moved closer so that he might break the distance though certainly did not keep himself quiet as he did so. Eventually he made a gentle woof to gain Sachiel's attention, hoping that he might be given the opportunity to find some sort of companionship even if it was only temporary.

His nose twitched as the scent of the dark male grew stronger, pulling him away from his thoughts. Company wasn’t a bad idea—it would keep him preoccupied (for now). Maybe the fiery-eyed male shared the same restless feeling that consumed Sachiel. Most of the Edge wolves were confined to the territory unless they were accompanied by another. Especially the tawny yearling, since he seemed to attract coyotes like flies to a fresh kill. No matter where he went the scrawny creatures flocked to him; a clear sign that he wasn’t to wander beyond the invisible border.

The soft woof was what lured the agouti forward, pulling him away from his previous path and in the direction of the solitary male. There was still much he did not know about the dark male, but that was his own fault. Sachiel was a bit of a loner as well—except when it came to Hawthorne and the Edge lords. He did not know much about his other packmates, but he didn’t really make an effort to get to know them. Not unless he had his peppered friend at his side.

Hey, he greeted rather lamely, his tail sweeping slowly behind him, you feelin’ antsy too?
