Legolas Stark

He laid there with his breath hitched in his throat, waiting impatiently for something to gobble his sister up… but nothing came. Nothing scooped her up or dragged her out of the den…

But something did rush at the tawny Stark and knock her off hers, causing a yelp to escape her. He shuffled forward, his navy pools widening as his bottom jaw popped open. His little pudgy body began to vibrate as he tried to decipher what had happened, but everything pieced together once he saw a familiar heap of blonde fur. Leith, of course. He should have known. A frustrated grumble escaped the boy as he pushed himself into a sloppy sitting position, his chin tipping from side to side as he watched his sister attempt to nip him in return. They were just asking to be scolded by their parents! A shrill bark escaped him as he attempted to break up the scuffle from where he was sitting. He didn’t want to get in the middle of their fight—not if he didn’t have to.

His attack was a success! His sibling elicited a yelp and he stepped back with a grin, ducking as she playfully growled and swatted at him. He replied with a bark, puppy blue eyes glimmering with mischief. She wasn’t hurt, she’d deal with it. His gaze traveled to the mouth of the den to see if his brother had emerged with their sister’s yelp. As his attention was diverted, Makvala found the opening she desired to nip him sharply. He yelped, more startled than hurt, before turning and scowling at her. Of course, she was trying to get the last laugh. But fat luck she’d have with that. Leith was the master of the last laugh. He stuck his tongue out at her, turning and crouching to wiggle his butt. He taunted his sister, knowing she’d likely take the bait.

Shrill barks directed at them came from the den and Leith looked over to see if the youngest Stark had finally come out. Of course he hadn’t. The boy waited in the thinning shadows of the den, hovering at the edge but not going over. Fine, if he didn’t want to play along he’d just play with Mak. She was being more amusing anyhow.

BRUSH OFF THE DIRT AND LET MY CHANGE OF HEART OCCUR

Why was he always so pushy? She pondered this thought as her ears pressed against her skull in discontent. It was like he was mocking her! How dare he? He hadn’t even the courage to be the first one to leave the den like she had! He wiggled his butt, crouching as she narrowed her eyes, charging at him without really thinking, just doing as she aimed to tackle him and hold him down so he couldn’t move. Maybe then he would learn his lesson and just leave her alone, Legolas too since Leith seemed so interested in pushing him to do things he clearly didn’t want to do either.

No, she’d take the scolding she’d likely receive from her parents if it meant teaching her older brother a lesson in manners… besides – she’d never admit it out loud… this was actually kind of fun for her. It was challenging, and Makvala was quickly learning that she absolutely loved a challenge. Lilya and Lachesis were sure to have their paws full with their progeny.

His little brows knitted together in frustration as his older littermates ignored him and continued with their roughhousing. Whatever. He turned his nose up at the duo, a tight grimace tracing his little snout. If they wanted to get in trouble with momma and dad then so be it; Legolas wanted nothing to do with them and their silliness. He huffed in frustration and scooted deeper into he depths of the den, his features still wrinkled. How was rolling around in the dirt fun? Especially in the outside?!

Pfft!

Legolas wanted nothing to do with the outside. Not when the den was nice and cosy; safe. They could act like ruffians all they wanted. Legolas was perfectly fine staying where he was, keeping out of trouble. If that as boring he was okay with it.

Tucking his tail against his body and over his nose the ivory boy felt his eyelids droop shut. He did not doubt that his brother and sister would join him eventually, but it wouldn’t stop him from napping before them. Napping was way more fun than whatever nonsense they were doing…

Legolas fade as he is taking a nap :P

Of course, his pestering worked and his sister was quick to take the bait. He knew she could never resist a challenge because, well, he couldn’t either. Neither was ever willing to back down and concede to the other, and so it would always end in a fight to see who was more bullheaded. She charged him blindly and he spread his legs, stabilizing himself. Where Makvala was long and lithe, he was broad and solid. She had him on speed, but he could nail her on strength. Of course, this logical process didn’t exactly go through his child’s mind. He simply acted on instinct. As the girl neared he threw his own weight forward, slamming his body into hers. If he was going to hurt, so was she! And boy did it.

The pair continued for a while longer, puppy growls and barks echoing through the air before, finally, the two crashed together and didn’t try to get back up. The pair laid in a crumpled pile on the soil, panting heavily from exertion. It wasn’t certain who was the first to nod off, but before long they were happily napping away. One might call it a draw.
