@Aleister only please, at least for the moment <3
(Still not fully sure how much she knows on the whole "pups" front, bear with me)

A couple miles west of SC borders,
Afternoon - Scattered Clouds, 51.8 ° F/11 ° C

Even up here, in the heights of the pass, the snow was almost entirely gone, proving just how long she’d been away. She hadn’t meant to, she really hadn’t, she just needed some time to herself to ride out the season. But she’d gotten caught up in her nostalgia, and then, other things… The truth was, she had seriously considered not coming back at all.

When she’d first met the wolves of, what was now, Sanguine Cove, Flair had been stunned to meet a group of wolves living together so casually. She’d made friends – Friends, me! – with wolves her own age, and experienced the comfort of being part of a group without ever feeling smothered. At least until spring came along. But then, that was why she had left. She didn’t want to spoil the relationships she had finally managed to build, because of stupid hormones!

But maybe she had done more harm by leaving. Her unfortunate parting with Al still stirred in the back of her mind, louder and louder the closer she got to their inevitable reunion. She’d tried to brush it off, but her anxiety insisted that she’d hurt him and ruined their friendship beyond repair. And then, what about the ones she’d abandoned without even a goodbye? How hurt would they be? I just wanted a little break…

And now, what had it been, two moons? She wasn’t even sure. She’d been ready to come back too, excited even, when that first, harrowing part of spring had finally drawn to a close. Running into Chan had been so great, so affirming – until he told her the news; Sanguine Cove…! It had been like ice in her veins, a freezing soak of water to kill her excitement. And she couldn’t even explain why. She’d known it was headed that way, that they were gonna be a proper pack someday. It shouldn’t change anything though, surely! Yet, all her fears had been awoken anew. The years of being an outcast, of trying and failing until she realized that pack life just wasn’t for her; This time could be different though!

But she was terrified that it wouldn’t be.

Taking a small break from his never ending duties as a leader and now a new father to not only one but two litters. Aleister was exhausted, but that little pest in the back of his mind just yelled, "That's what you get!" So he couldn't blame anyone, but himself for the extra workload he gave himself. However, Al would be no use to them if he worked himself dead. A little walk wasn't going to hurt.

Heading west outside of the borders, he started his short journey to stretch his legs and get a good run in possibly. His head wandered as he strolled, the thought of Lila's disappearance and how Flair has yet to return to the Lake. Knowing both had a troublesome past with the Lore, he couldn't hold any ill towards either of them. He's been in their paws, though he wished he could of gotten a goodbye from Lila. She had been there to comfort him when his sister left him, so she knew how abandonment settled with him. Flair, on the other hand, never completely promised him she would make it back.

Aleister was worried he had truly scared her off in the beginning of Spring. He again couldn't blame her and clearly it was for the best that she took her leave from the Lake. Who knows what they would of done with three litters...

As he rounded a bend, he paused in his gentle stroll as his mismatched gaze catch sight of a fiery coat in the distance. "It can't be..." Al whispered to himself as he quickened his pace to get a better look. A smirk crossed his face as he got closer and his assumptions were correct. "Well, didn't expect to find you anywhere close to the Lake, since I scared you off," he drawled thick with sarcasm.

So deeply steeped in her own worries, Flair didn’t even notice the other wolf appearing up ahead. Amber eyes traced her paws as they walked a thin trail up the mountainside, carved out of the rock by centuries of use by its many residents. Was she ready to add her feet to their number?

The sudden ring of that familiar voice brought her head up like a whip-crack, body stiffening as she spotted Al, only a few leaps ahead on the path. Like a startled deer, she stood still as stone, staring wide eyed at the sepia man. Silence stretched while as she could manage to do was lick her lips, swallowing hard; Why are you so surprised? She scolded herself, fighting to regain control of her muscles; He’s the whole reason you came!

It took embarrassingly long before the fiery girl finally managed to make her tongue shape the words of a response, her eyes looking pointedly away from Aleister’s face as she said: “Like A’d be scared’a you.” Her whole demeanor as well as the long lead up took painfully away from the statement, despite her attempt at a harsh tone. Realizing as much, she forced herself to look back at the man, meeting his two-colored gaze with a look she hoped showed confidence, though she felt none.

"Good, I don't think anything could truly scare you," he drawled out with a smirk as he tried to will her fiery gaze upon him. Sure, she could be a bit uncomfortable with things, but that didn't make someone scared. It only took her moments to look at him and once she did, Al couldn't help the small smile that lifted his ebony lips. He missed her company and Al really hoped that she decided to come join them. Though, he had to admit he was nervous that she was moving on from them entirely and merely returning to say her goodbyes.

"You look good. I hope you have been fairing well?" The Vuesain asked softly, hoping to know that he didn't completely ruin what friendship was starting to form between them before Spring. His mismatched gaze had gave her good once over before he had approached her moments before. Aleister didn't see any new scars on the female, though he was sure she might of given some to anyone that got in her way while on her journey.

His smile eased her a little, as did the sarcasm, oddly enough, she much preferred it to overt sympathy; It’s a lot easier to deal with…! He did get more genuine quickly though, which put her a bit on the spot, so she took her time to answer, fighting hard to keep from biting lip as she thought. The question was innocuous enough, but she couldn’t help but feel that there was more behind it; Maybe I’m overthinking… Since when was that her problem?

Finally, she cleared her throat, offering a slightly strained smile as she answered: “Well enough. Haven’t gotten ‘nto any trouble, anyway,” she shrugged, flashing her teeth as if to challenge fate to try and bring some; We’ll see how you like it! But her smile died quickly, eyes drifting to her paws as she dug nervously at the ground. “Actually A’ve been a bit lonely…” She finally admitted, not daring to look back up at him. The answer seemed obvious to her – Then why didn’t you come back sooner? – In an attempt to apprehend the question, she hurriedly added: “A’ ran ‘nto Chan, he said y’ve finally made it official.”

Swallowing hard, she licked her dry lips, waiting for his answer.
