What mattered foremost were how her niece and nephew were coping with the prospect of their mother's absence in the wake of the trauma of losing their father in a similar way, as well as that of newborn children to share the adults' attention with.
She came upon Marrah first by scent, and sent a low chuff out into the air to get her attention and draw her near. She then issued a few barks to get Caelyn's attention if he was nearby, which she dearly hoped he was. When it came to blood, it was just the three of them now.
