The call, when he’d heard it, had worried him immediately. The cry was short, panicked, and cut off entirely too quickly for it to be normal. After Finley’s eventful birthing experience, the dark one had been acutely aware that Flair would be next in line sometime soon, and he’d been keeping an ear out for that, just in case. For there to be trouble with her, too, worried him.

Jet didn’t think he’d ever turned around and run so quickly towards anything before. The forest went by in a blur, almost. The edges of his vision had turned blurry, spurred on by adrenaline and worry. He’d anticipated that Flair’s experience would be far quieter, probably involving just her and Chan. That one day, one of the two would let him know, perhaps by escorting their kid, or kids, to the lake for everyone to meet.

Instead what he smelled was blood. What he heard sounded like a fight, and Flair was no-where to be seen. Instead, a familiar white figure - Reika’s friend from the other day at the lake - was engaging with an unfamiliar darker one. The aggressor, he presumed. His blood ran cold at the thought of someone purposefully harming Flair, and he willed himself to move faster, to cover the remaining ground between himself and the combatants to aid his other ally.

Carrow Asurn
You can wrap with one more post from Cole? (Or Jet/both if you'd like :3)

Another successful hit! Really these broads were far too easy to dispense with. Carrow snarled gleefully into the bloody fur, clenched firmly between her teeth, and readied herself to shake the woman like a rat – only before she could, she felt the muscles shift under her grip, moving against her hold despite the teeth tearing at her flesh as she did.

And then the shoulder rammed into Carrow’s jaw, forcing her teeth apart and knocking her aside. She took a step sideways to maintain her balance, growling in anger at the unexpected, and unfamiliar, trick. If she hadn’t been so enraged, she would have admired the move, as it was, she only sneered, preparing to launch another attack.

A flash of black out one corner of her eye stopped her though, head turning to see the unknown male race towards them; Crap! Perhaps this was the expectant father finally coming to scrape his wench off the gravel. Either way, Carrow’s odds were dropping quickly, and she had no plan of dying today. “Screw this!” She snarled, backing away from the one-eyed woman and her incoming support. She’d managed what she’d come for, and she wasn’t about to put her tail on the line; Let them pick up the pieces!

Turning tail, Carrow ran back towards the small ravine, leaping onto the tree trunk bridge and scurrying across. She’d glance back over her shoulder to check for pursuers as she went, but hopefully they would spot their unconscious compatriot below and turn their attention to her, leaving the Crow to make a safe escape south.

Colette
At least, her tactic had worked in part, knocking the strange, offending woman back a couple of steps - in exchange for a shoulder wound. A growl of anger and frustration escaped the other, something Cole mirrored, shifting back a step to keep about a body length of distance between herself and the other, wincing at the hurt even such a minor movement caused.

The stranger’s eyes betrayed her intent, and Colette preferred to play defense, anyway. The ghost didn’t have a lot of confidence in her ability to win a brawl, certainly not by throwing herself relentlessly after someone that was younger and probably more agile. But her goal was just to distract, no matter what it took, and hope someone else arrived.

Which happened sooner than expected. The dark guy from a few days ago manifested like a shadow, baring down on them quickly. In the time it took Cole to glance from him and back to her opponent, the coward was already fleeing. The ghost moved to follow but didn’t manage more than a few steps, the pain receptors in her shoulder flaring.

Even if she hadn’t been injured though, what she saw would’ve stopped her. The woman she could only assume was Chan’s new girl lie in a small ravine, bloodied, broken. Helpless.

”No… damn it!” As quickly as possible, the ghost descended into the ravine, pressing her nose into the flank of the beaten woman upon arrival. Breathing, alive. Thank goodness. Never at any moment in her life could Colette recall feeling so helpless. And where the hell was Chan? ”Please wake up.. stay with us.”

The sort of anger he hadn’t experienced a lot of flooded Jet as the stranger turned tail to flee at the sight of more than one opponent. A damn coward. It was only the panicked words of Reika’s friend that broke his focus and intent on chasing this stranger down, reminding him that Flair was their main concern. Slowing, took a moment to analyze as much of the fleeing figure as he could, as well as to remember her scent, before turning to the other woman.

She’d already descended into a small ravine, and as he followed, the dark one felt his heart drop. Flair lie unmoving, while the injured and bloodied white female uttered a panicked plea. The adrenaline he’d felt previously slowly ebbed, and although it was pushed aside for now as Jet arrived to help his companion, the fiery anger remained.

Flair was still breathing, though, which was good. And steadily, it seemed. The dark one tipped his head back to let out a summoning call. Flair’s in trouble. Even if the others were further away, they’d likely hear it. Hopefully.. that would include Chan. ”We probably shouldn’t move her, till some of the others get here,” he spoke quietly, for the other. He recalled that Chan was at least somewhat knowledgeable about medicine. The dark one hoped beyond hope that he’d be in range and know what to do.
