All day Oksana hadn't felt like herself. Though she was worried about the drought all of that had been pushed from her mind. Her instincts had taken over as the day wore on. Leading her to stay as close to her den as possible. She didn't even feel like eating or doing much else. Then as the daylight started to dwindle the Crow had made her way down into the safety of the den she'd dug out weeks ago.
Once inside it had taken her awhile to finally get comfortable. She laying facing rhe den entrance watching as the light disappeared. Oksana didn't know how much time had passed after darkness had fallen when the first pain hit her. She felt the muscles of her body tighten. In that moment she knew it was time and once the first contraction passed, "Lee," was called into the night.
She hoped that her husband wasn't far amd that he woukd be with her soon. More contractions followed first far apart than closer together until the first of her pups had slipped from her body. Once again instict took over as she pulled the little bundle to her and began the efforts to clean his dark fur off. She had enough time to dry him and help him to her stomach before the next round of contractions.
