Paradise Falls XIII. Subordinate
Riven
@Atara but maybe open to more pack members?
Riven, you stumble across a bear fresh out of hibernation. Tread carefully.

It was a nice day. Warmth bled into the forest, the sun peeking through the trees and soaking into the fur along his back. It felt as though it was soothing every part of him, this transition from the cold months to the warmer. The woods had come back to life and things were going to be just fine. Riven had been unsure of this place for a while after the incident a few weeks prior, but time had a way of easing his anxiety and nothing bad had happened since.

He'd been staying with @Adelard more and more now that he was sure he wasn't taking away time better spent with @Isla and her pups. Their pups, more than likely, he reminded himself, though it wasn't really any business of his. Riven wasn't stealing anyone away or causing any excess tension, so he was fine with where he was at.

The healer was combing through the forest for any new herbs when a musky odor filled his nose. Almost at the same moment, there was a rustling in the growth to his right, and Riven jerked back just in time to avoid the lumbering creature. The bear made a snuffling, snorting sound and rose onto its hind legs, curious more than anything. Riven made to back away, keeping himself low to the ground and slow moving, mind running a mile a minute to try and figure out how best to handle the situation.

Paradise Falls XIV. Yearling
Atara Kane
WE'RE BURNIN' DOWN THE HIGHWAY SKYLINE ON THE BACK OF

Atara had been on the lookout for anything at all that might need her attention, and came across a prime example of why such patrolling was necessary. When the wind brought the news, it was not of one presence before another. Simultaneously she learned that both a pack mate and an ursid were nearby. She changed course swiftly but not brashly.

When the yearling arrived on the scene, she slipped passed brush to stand at Riven's side with all the quickness and subtlety of a mouse. It was when she was in place that the low growl began in her throat, tail raised stiffly to the level of her spine. For now, she was calm, but the threat was clear enough. Should the bruin not heed her warning, Atara planned on escalating.

It wouldn't take much for her to call the rest of the pack, and its befuddled self wouldn't stand a chance against the pack.

That wasn't to say she was goading in her actions, and she certainly didn't want to see things play out in such a way. To know that Riven was not alone, that the numbers could grow, would hopefully be enough to dissuade the bear from any territorial impulses that might flit through its vacant mind. Hopefully it would go to find somewhere less busy to begin refueling that drained stomach and continue its waking.
