Chan had been working harder the past few days, and sleeping less. It showed in his eyes and the worn lines throughout his features, but somehow his energy held. Grief driven, he knew but wouldn't stop to recognize, much less attempt to process. After all, whatever he felt about Finley's death couldn't compare to say, Atara and Ryder's hurt. He was fine. He would be fine.
It was good there were things to do.
He followed after Adelard's trail, mindful of finding an opportunity in which he was alone. After what the other wolf had gone through, Chan would have wanted to check in on him more frequently to ensure he was truly well - in Ad's specific case, though, @Riven most certainly was taking utmost care, lessening the leader's need for concern. He couldn't help but wonder though, if his peer chalked any lack of attention up to the tension between them.
Chan hoped to finally dispel any such possible thoughts, even if his opener would hint toward the opposite. He would stroll into whatever area the other wolf occupied with the same easy-going demeanor he approached most things, and once Adelard's attention was on him, a single, nearly casual statement would be dropped.
