Rhysis remained silent at his side, but that did not mean the male was content with the situation. He could feel that his ebony pack mate was put off by the stranger, and could only imagine by how much.. he had yet to truly grow to know the newest pack member.
The stranger’s words were taken in to consideration, and for a swift moment, the alabaster wolf offered a small nod in agreement. Yes, a chance was the only true way to overcome estrangement. And before he could touch on this agreement, the swarthy rogue continued.. and perhaps at that point, took it too far.
Bristling at small threat, the Argyris male drew up higher now, one fang slipping past his lips in a quiet growl. He did not take kindly to threats, no matter how subtle they were, nor did he miss the implication of stealing.. and how if Phineas did not accept him, the man could do so from another pack.
With only two packs in the area, just who would he steal from?
“I see,” he rumbled now, withholding the smallest smirk. “If that’s your way of implying that you’ll steal our resources for this other pack if we turn you away.. by all means,” he murmured, taking a small sidestep and nodding in the direction of his home – the sardonic implication was there, and the swarthy brute would be stopped before he even got a tail length toward Magnolia Glen. “I dare you to try. My pack does not fear you. Nor do they fear another pack.” There was a small pause as he shifted his weight then, his muzzle tipping to bump to Rhysis, queuing him. They were done here. “Leave these lands. I don’t take kindly to threats and I will not take food from my pack for your meaningless survival.”

Beelzebub
It didn't work. Beelzebub in this life or the lives before this had not been very well with taking commands, nor falling before others feet in submission. This was reserved for one and only - the one true god - Lucifer. The demon tensed, his eyes locking onto the male who had made it clear that he would be refused this day. Perhaps it was not the smartest move on Beelzebub's part when it came to being a wolf, though perhaps if food truly became scarce to the point of needing to overrun other packs, Phineas would then wish to have another wolf on his team then his opponents. This, of all days, would prove that the truth did not 'set one free' but only got them rejected. So, the liar would only have to learn to be a better liar even if it meant kissing another Leader's ass. "Very well." He speaks, shifting backwards despite the Leader's 'invite' forth. He was no fool. He would not take on two larger, healthier males on his own. He was a thief, a scout, a spy. He worked by sneaking in, silent, unknown. "Until next time..." And with this the swift wolf turned, quickly making off to dash from these lands from which he came. His options were few to none, though the rogue had no intentions of turning over on his back and dying just yet.

Rhysis Aquila
One on hand it would have been fun to have the male in the pack. Picking on him would have been fun. On the other, he was a bit of a snake and Rhysis wanted to make it through to spring with relative ease. Having a character who was such an ass would have made the wait more tedious. It was with relief that Phineas turned the request down and as soon as his leash was released he ran. An array of sounds escaping his lips, he didn't need to be asked twice to escort the other male from their pack lands and he gladly took up the task.
The other turned tail quickly, leaving behind cheap words which caused a smirk to caress his face. He had selected a good personality for himself here - a better, less power-hungry, calmer version of himself which made it much easier to keep up. It meant he could be an ass when he was permitted and this just happened to be one of those times. Quick as a flash he gave chase, not pausing to stop until the other was well away from their territory. It was a shame he wasn't fighting fit - he'd have like to have caught the moron and tear him a new one. Maybe rip out that flapping tongue of his just to stop him spouting such nonsense. Still, maybe he'd be lucky enough to bump into him again one day and he could finish the task then.
He turned quietly back towards home where he would head towards his den. He'd had enough of restraining himself upon the borders for one day.

Phineas Argyris
His fiery eyes kept close watch on the male – stoical at even the smallest threat of seeing him again. As the swarthy male turned, leaving the lands as instructed, the Leader watched as Caleb chased after him in the snow. Hesitating, Phineas thought to follow him, yet did not. Caleb was well enough in the end – the Argyris male had no doubt his pack mate could handle the lowly existence of the other if he chose to, and instead, he turned, giving his pelt a shake to rid himself of the fallen snow upon his pelt. Suddenly, the world seemed to fall silent, and the Leader exhaled sharply, his breath forming puffs of pale mist.
The brief interlude was put behind him now – he felt no guilt at possibly sending another to their death… not one with such arrogance. Perhaps the honesty would have been refreshing, had it been from another he could potentially trust. Yet Magnolia Glen would not house a creature like that, and without further thought to the matter, the Leader trailed back to the heart of the pack lands, checking on the meagre pack caches as he went. Barely a thing left. A snort escaped him, and moving forward to seek out Borlla, if only for her companionship, he could scent Caleb fresh upon the breeze. The male had returned home -- settling with this thought, the regal broke to a lope, his paws stirring the snow beneath him as he slinked off through the trees of his home.
