Snapdragon Firethorn

Fleeing Firethorn Peak in the midst of winter was perhaps not the greatest of choices—she stuck out like a sore thumb, a dark stain against the white of snow, and if her pursuer had truly wanted to track her they could have done so easily. Snapdragon knew these things, and also that the hunt for food as a vagabond would often prove fruitless, but ultimately she knew there was no choice. For all her time spent as the bottom rung—her entire life!—and all she had put up with, a line had been crossed. And, due to her chronic silence, there was no justice to be found. It was sheer luck that the Alphas had called for a hunt as her attacker began to give chase—they would have been missed and questions would have been asked—but she still feared to look behind her. Still feared she would be taken in her sleep.

But she had to be far enough away now; safe enough. Truthfully, Snapdragon didn't know how long she had been running—it was all such a blur—nor where she was... but there was a different atmosphere here. It calmed her slightly, though her nerves remained on edge, enough that she decided to brave a small hunt for herself. It smelled of hare, here, and the tracks of their hopping gait did more to betray their presence. Hunger lent her strength and it wasn't long before the half-starved female held a prize in her grasp, sinking to lay upon the snow and rip it open with a savage growl. Warm, rich blood spilled down her throat, staining the white of the earth and black of her muzzle without discrimination.

<blockquote>ooc;hope you don't mind. sorry my post isn't the best.
Maybe the young Tainn was pushing his luck, at first he had only been following Swift River. Marveling how great it was. No real thoughts of passing the borders, but the river carved into a stream, and his large paws were keen to keep walking. The open freedom calling his name. Triell Over, and over. Like mother nature was daring him, to journey further. He could not stay put when there was so much out there unknown. He knew Indru did not wish to hinder him in any way. His brother had always done the best to teach him, and give him life experiences the rest of his siblings had had. Still, maybe it was instilled in his heart to adventure to satify his curiousity. All the same his heart beat with fear, and wonderment. A different mixture of adrenline. Black nose inahled deep, the rush of moss, vine, and varmit pressing in. He was getting better every day at the small things he needed to survive. His brothers hopefully were proud of the wolf he was becoming.

Suddenly, the creek forked off and he hatled at it's banks. Yellow-orange eyes stared across the gap, noticing the other side looked a wild mess. Would he get lost if he ventured further? Maybe he should turn back now. He could always come back later. The faint, coppery scent of blood stung his senses. Gaze narrowed, as he sniffed, trying to remember what that was. Yet, when he started to sniff he knew the reason there was blood. A wolf. A light exhale, the ink toned male, saw the Beaver Dam. Much better then getting soaked, the growing male strolled to the fallen tree. Setting one paw he tested it, and it seemed sturdy. Shrugging, he walked long the reach falling his nose into the Thicket of Secrets. The scent grew stronger, and he soon saw the crimson against the pale white. Brows set against his bright eyes, he meandered till he stumbled on the brown wolf and her snack.</blockquote>

Snapdragon Firethorn
Sorry for the ridiculous delay... time sort of got away from me.

Snapdragon stripped the rabbit's flesh from its bone and devoured it with the precision of a hunter. Days having passed since her last meager meal, the consumption of her prey was rushed and not savored—by the time an intruder stumbled upon Snap, there was not much left beyond skeletal remains. Still, suspicious and startled, the brown female let out a warning growl that intermingled with a frightened whine. It wasn't until Snap realized it was a young male—too young to be her attacker—that the noise trailed off into silence and she glanced at him a bit sheepishly.

Rising, she stepped over the bones protectively, but lowered her head in ears in something like a silent apology for her initial reaction. It was her first encounter with the inhabitants of this land, and this young male in particular smelled of pack—the scents of numerous others laced the fur of his coat. Perhaps she would find a way to communicated with him and learn more about the territories she found herself in.

<blockquote>ooc; don't worry about it. i know that happens. (:

The growl from the mud-hued form brought ears forward, and the few long strands of black hair to prick on the back of his nape. The fear highpitched sound of a whimper mixed settled it back down. No ill intent, he hadn't been after her meal, and a frown hung off his lips trying to console his quiet regrets of sneaking up on her. She seemed to understand hopefully he was only here for curiostiy's sake, and he half smiled when recieving her sheepish gaze. There was little left of her kill, and he instead wondered if she only needed more. Triell was not fully grown but was slightly larger then she. Bright amber eyes wandered over her pelt. she was the size of Borlla if that, and he wondered if she to was a pup. Nose wrinkled, and he could not scent any other wolf. Why was she alone?

A soft whine sounded in his throat, when she arose, a more calm but appolegitc head carriage. He was only reassuring she'd done nothing wrong, and he was sorry. He held a solid stance, head hung with a sureness. <b>"I didn't mean to interupt your meal. Did you need more?"</b> He asked, something in him wanting to make up for the awkward position he'd found himself in. She looked like she could use a few more rabbits, and knew how to catch them. <b>"Oh, I'm Triell by the way."</b> He spoke warmly, lightly wagging his tail meaning no harm.</blockquote>
