Creating a Library Article.

Part of the fun of the RoW Library is that it is possible for our members to create articles and participate in developing Relic Lore as a game by doing so. If you are interested in making an article, that's great! First, we ask that you take a few moments to read through this helpful guide so you may develop your article properly and make sure it meets our requirements and expectations.

Requirements for Submitting a Library Article

RoW's Library is meant to be an easily navigated resource for our game players. The purpose of these articles is to provide each member with specific details pertaining to gameplay, whether an Out of Character feature or In Character. Because of this, we require that each article that is submitted have relevance to the development of the game and its characters. Random articles irrelevant to Ruins of Wildwood will not be accepted in to our Library database.

Finally, given that the article is to represent itself as content to the game, all articles will need to be carefully written with truthful statements and without misleading information. Each article should be reviewed by the writer prior to submission and contain proper grammar and easy flowing sentences.

Writing an article.

When you have completed your article and believe it is ready to be released to your fellow RoW players, the process for doing so is rather simple. Depending on the topic your article is relevant to, you will go to the section of the Library where you feel your article should be placed (an example: a written article regarding the Tainn or Lyall family history would be placed under ‘History and Setting – Packs and Families’).

Once in the section you feel your article should be placed in, just as you would create a new role-playing thread, you click on the ‘New Topic’ link at the top right board header. Thread setting should remain as ‘No Prefix.’ The ‘Thread Subject’ will then become the title of your Library Article, while the ‘Description’ will give you the ability to offer a brief highlight of your article. You will then choose the proper ‘Topic Location’ (above example would choose ‘families’).

You are now able to paste the content of your article in the main text box. Be sure to customzie your article how you feel it should look, but keep in mind the basic layout of articles we offer with the ‘Dummy Article’ section below. When you are happy with how your article will look, you will then click the ‘Post Thread’ button found at the bottom. The article will then be submitted to the Staff for review, where it will either be approved or declined as a RoW Library Article.

Customising your article.

Customizing your Library Article is an extremely important step that should not be skipped or scoffed at – Science has proven that specific layouts of text, correct spacing, and the highlight of certain areas of text you wish to draw attention to will gain the attention of your readers. Given that we are all here to partake in a writing community, we want to make sure we don't have to spend too much time painfully sifting through eye-burning articles that are hard to follow and read! Below you will find the code for our basic article layout. We request that your articles maintain this layout as a base.

The Code for RoW Library Articles

Code:
<a name="top"></a><h1>This is an article header.</h1>
<div class="tableofcontents">
<strong>Table of Contents</strong>
<ul>
<li><a href="#sectionname">Article Link</a></li>
</ul>
</div>
<p>
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Donec facilisis volutpat est sit amet sollicitudin. Fusce lacinia tincidunt magna ac dapibus. Pellentesque viverra accumsan adipiscing. In eu dignissim justo. Duis a orci vel tellus tempor molestie. Mauris laoreet dignissim felis, et suscipit ante consectetur sit amet. </p>

<h2>This is an article subheader</h2><br />
<p>Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Donec facilisis volutpat est sit amet sollicitudin. Fusce lacinia tincidunt magna ac dapibus. Pellentesque viverra accumsan adipiscing. In eu dignissim justo. Duis a orci vel tellus tempor molestie. Mauris laoreet dignissim felis, et suscipit ante consectetur sit amet. Aliquam quis eros eros.</p>

And each section below the initial should follow this format:<br />
Code:
<a name="sectionname"></a><h1>This is a section header.</h1>
<p>Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Donec facilisis volutpat est sit amet sollicitudin. Fusce lacinia tincidunt magna ac dapibus. Pellentesque viverra accumsan adipiscing.
