Whisper Caverns horizons

Kite had told her leader the news of the Thorns, and in turn Nina had given her plenty of information to bring to the Caverns alpha. Be it her alphas brother or Narime, Kite would deliver her news. She was tired by the journeys end, but still in good health. Her tongue lolled freely from between her lips as she kept off the borders, keeping some distance between herself and them. There was no straight line a border had; here and there they were marked, and Kite would not intrude. The crinose wolf felt her tongue roll over her nose and she inhaled a deep drought of air; there was no one immediately nearby that she could scent, and so she lifted her head and howled. Kite's mother did not take well to any wolf howling near her borders if they intended to join, but when it came to news it was a very different situation.

So, she sang.

The territory itself was drastically different from her own home—past and present—she came to realize, as her muzzle fell and her song ended. The location itself was on higher ground. Secret Woodlands was truly earth, Kite felt. Low and rooted, a hidden little paradise. This place was... different. Hilly, from the trip alone... but she wondered what the depths of this place held. Her flank twitched, and she felt herself itching to enter; but that had not been the task she was assigned. In any case, they were allies. She was only innocently curious, regardless, enjoying territories beyond the bland, open Plains from whence she came. It was a whole new world.

Late morning came to the meadow cloaking it in bright sunlight and turning the field into streaks of green and gold. The late sleeping cavern wolves were still stretched out within the cool den while the early risers like Narime had long since headed out to perform their daily chores. Although the alpha had stopped momentarily to dine on a ground hog before heading out to patrol the border.

She had finished her meal and was just about to leave the bones to the scavengers when a howl announced the arrival of a stranger to the border. Standing up and shaking off her coat, Nari readied herself to meet the unknown she wolf who beckoned her. Then the mother took off at a lope towards the howls source. Luckily the border that Kite had called from was rather close to her location which allowed Nari to get there rather quickly.

As the silver wolf approached, her blue eyes were met with a lithe beige, gray, and tawny shape standing at the border. The unfamiliar form put Nari on edge as she arrived with her head, body, and tail confidently raised. Looking over the woman with a blank face, Nari scented her and sighed as she recognized Nina's pack smell upon her coat. Feeling more comfortable with the stranger now Nari relaxed her body then glanced to the female with a curious but warm look in her light blue eyes.

"My name is Narime Lagina. And who is this Secret Woodlands wolf at my border?" Nari introduced herself politely before asking for the strangers name.
