Sacred Grove Into the dark...

Roma was thrilled at the reaction her story earned from Naia. She could barely hide her disappointment when her tiny companion announced that she needed to get home. From pride to disappointment so quickly and now to confusion as Naia spoke of her sister, Athena. Roma felt like her emotions were jumping all over the place. Athena viciously climbing the ranks was something Roma could believe and as long as she had earned her rank, Roma would not fault her sister for that. Zeus had certainly raised Roma to desire a high rank within a pack and to be willing to fight for it. However, as Naia explained that Athena had broken pack laws by running off with one of their loyal warriors, and pregnant none-the-less, Roma grew curious. She would not judge her sister of this either; Roma was far from perfect, herself. But the daughter of Zeus, a leader by blood, Roma couldn't help but be bothered by the fact that her sister had broken pack law. Roma would not believe the account of her companion without also getting her sister's version, but it was certainly a story that Roma felt compelled to look into.

Roma's emotions flip-flopped again when Naia invited her to visit at the border. Roma would surely take the she-wolf up on the offer; she had been very pleasant company and one of the nicest wolves Roma had met in a while. After her companion scurried off deeper into the forest, Roma also turned and made her way back through the grove to return to her sister. She had filed her questions about Naia's account of Athena into the back of her mind; those were questions for a later day, when she had a moment alone with Athena. For now, Roma was just happy to have made a friend. It had been a long while since the run-away princess had been so relaxed in the company of another wolf. Content with her night's adventure, tired, and ready to be away from the eerie forest, Roma quickly made her way back through the grove and towards the Lost Lake.
