RE- The sky is dark with storm clouds
9/20/2014--> Or sometime after 9/23/2014? Whatever date works best for the person who replies - 6:50pm - dusk As soon as the bad weather started to roll in Kova was up and out of the den. Ignoring warnings and complaints from his father the young gray wolf cub sprinted away enjoying the freedom of just being away from the adults who liked to tell him what to do or not do. The fresh scent of rain on the wind brought Kova's nose up into the air as he ran onwards towards the higher hills that made up blackberry fields. His fur bristled with energy as he felt the electricity pour through the air. The light show was already beginning. His excited blue eyes spotted the first branches of lightning as it skittered across the sky from the dark looming storm clouds coming from the west. The clouds were aqua colored as they expanded and moved with the high winds produced by the warm and cold fronts slamming into each other. The pup paused at the top of a hill overlooking the rest of the field. It was the same hill he had stopped at before meeting Beaudry. The woods on the far side of the hills were already pitch black as the clouds covered up the sun and cast half the landscape in shadow. The other half of the landscape was made up of beautiful shades of mixed golds, oranges, browns, and greens. Although slowly the shadow cast by the dark storm began to swallow up more and more of the vibrant colors. Gazing into the storm bravely Kova released something akin to a roar; though to be truthful the noise was half snarl half howl. His challenge did not go upon deaf ears as the storm rumbled loudly back and more lightning began to flash across the sky. |
