Angier Lyall

Angier Lyall had been up and down the slopes of the mountain and had yet to find a decent place – a small cave, a nook, a perch – to call his own. It wasn’t until he discovered an appealing little space not too far below the pack den, a rock shelf of sorts. The faint scent of a male wolf still lingered about the space but while it seemed somewhat familiar, he fully doubted it was someone he knew. After all, he had only been apart of Midnight Plateau for no more than two weeks. He rubbed his side possessively against the rock wall before sitting with his lower back against it and looking out at the splendor of Relic Lore. Night was beginning to fall and he was sure each of his pack mates were beginning to wrap up their daily duties and activities.

He inhaled deeply, savoring the crispness of the mountain air, finding it more refreshing than the scent of pine trees and earthy shrubs. Casting his gaze toward the charred forest of the Wildwood and then toward the darker, greener Cedarwood Forest, he recalled how Makita had been attacked and how Vlarindara had been pleasant company in his nomadic days. A smile made the corners of maw curl upward. He missed her, but with a pack to look after her, he was sure that she would be fine, well taken care of and such. He wrapped his tail closely about his haunches, feeling the wind briskly sweep up the side of the mountain. His eyes fluttered and blinked for a few moments before he reclined onto his stomach, finding that the shelf’s ledge somewhat shielded him against the breeze. The tip of his tail continued to flick as he sifted through his thoughts. Today had been a lonely one after he had checked up on Makita that morning, but something about the darkening skies told him that the evening would hold a rather different story.

Adonia Valde
Adonia leisurely wandered through the towers of rock, making sure not to have a mis-step that would result in something unfortunate. At times, the female wolf enjoyed being up in the mountains even more than being on the flat lands itself, up in the 'palace of the clouds', as she called it anyway, there seemed to be no rules. There was barely anything around to disturb, and all was quiet and peaceful. Ever since her run-in with Weldering in his cave, she found the mountain more and more welcoming than ever before. These feelings increased by the day, and sometimes Adonia just longed to be in the mountains for hours at a time, watching the world around her on the high up perch. The she-wolf was closer to the base of the mountain today however, and was rather looking for someone to talk to. The day had been rather <i>too</i> quiet for her, so meeting new acquaintances would not be unwelcome.

As the sun was beginning to set, Adonia decided to find this new wolf quickly before dark would quickly grab everything in its shadowy embrace, and therefore compromise her ability to get around the sharp stones even more than in the present. Suddenly she caught a whiff of the Midnight Plateau pack scent. Smiling to herself, she followed the way that her nose led her, straight to a small ledge. A tad bit below her sat a male that she recognized as Angier - a fellow, but not well known, pack member. She decided to ask him before approaching, as she didn't want to startle.
<b>"Hello down there!"</b> she called out, her voice reverberating amongst the rocks that surrounded her on all sides, <b>"Mind if I come down for a visit?"</b>

Angier Lyall

His slight prescience of what the night held was proven to be correct as a “Hello down there!” echoed against the rocks and into Angier’s ears. He jumped slightly and immediately turned his head toward where the voice had come from. “Mind if I come down for a visit?” A smile crept up along his muzzle as realized it was wolf he had seen around the mountain. He hailed back, “H-Hi… sure!” The Lyall sat up and scratched at an ear while waiting for Adonia to make her way to him. “Don’t mind if ya do.”

His tail gave a few sways of gladness as he sat up properly with his hind feet evenly placed on the cold stone surface. Perhaps she’d share her day with him if anything at all; if there was one thing Angier had been craving for all day it had to be hearing another’s voice. The last time he had the pleasure of talking and listening to someone was when he had heeded Weldering’s announcement for those who wished to sharpen their skills in fighting. He vowed to himself that he’d seek out other members of his new pack; Alexander would want him to be able to account for everyone, right? Gazing out to the tops of the trees, he waited for her to settle down, make herself comfortable and at ease.

Adonia Valde
Adonia grinned at his reply. <b>"I'm sorry if I startled you, that is exactly what I was trying not to do."</b> She slowly and carefully made her way towards him and the ledge he was sitting upon. He was probably enjoying the view and thinking about various things, which was something that Adonia enjoyed doing often. <b>"I'm afraid that I don't know you very well."</b> the she-wolf called down, <b>"So I understand it if you don't recognize me."</b>

The female wolf reached him and sat down next to him, slightly out of breath from the descent. There was a slight wind, and the sun shown through the clouds like a pillar of hope. The chill was still in the air, especially since they were up in the mountains, but it wasn't as unbearable as it had been earlier in the months. Adonia didn't know whether or not the male wolf next to her would be uncomfortable with starting a conversation, so she began one herself with the first thing she could think of.

<b>"Hi, I'm Adonia."</b> she said, slightly lamely.

Angier Lyall

o o c | forgive me for the lame/short post… just wanted to move the thread along before I scramble out the door.

“Oh, that’s alright,” he grinned once she had settled down beside him. “I do recognize you, I just haven’t been able to, well… muster up th’ courage t’ say ‘ello.” A light snicker tumbled from his throat. “Angier,” he replied, offering his name in return as he glanced to her warmly. His brush-like tail wagged lightly behind him.

“So…” he began rather awkwardly. “‘ave a good day today, I hope? Find anything interesting worthy of an entertaining tale?”
