Ranger held a rough interior, much like himself, but it was proven once more to the tawny male to how kind her heart truly was beneath that guarded shield. He remained silent as the ebony she-wolf spoke a few heated words to the stranger, who seemed to want nothing more than to grumble softly to herself and silently refuse their help.
Ranger offered insight to how she had watched deer show the same symptoms as the stranger, though they could never be certain. The life of a lone wolf in winter was dangerous, and if she was injured and had no pack to feed her, it was unlikely she would survive. Yet at her refusal to answer even a simple question, Ruiko was once more reminded of survival of the fittest. Let her rot in the snow.
Shifting his eyes back to his companion, the tawny beast gently placed his muzzle atop hers, signifying he understood she wanted to aid the other wolf. “We can leave whenever you want to,” he let her know, uncertain if she would give up now and move on to their travels, or if she wanted to coax information from the stranger once more. There was a small pause in his words as his eyes skimmed over the weak she-wolf once more. "We could even just kill her and take her as a snack for later," he murmured dismissively, if only to see what reaction he could gauge from the ebony stranger before them.
He mentioned something about taking her along as a snack and Ranger laughed, a high tinkling sound, like bells. She shook her head and kissed his cheek, turning her merry eyes back toward the wolf before them. <b>"She's much too skinny to eat. I think it would be harder to eat her than the energy we would gain."</b> Ranger studied the stranger for a few more minutes, wondering what was going on in her head. <b>"We only want to help, you know,"</b> she whispered, beginning to turn away from the wolf at her feet.
Black triangles on the top of Kauda's petite head swiveled around to listen to the wolves. Wonderful, thanks for your freakin' support. thought Kauda angrily. "You will not eat me." Kauda muttered, sending an ice cold glare at the male with ice blue eyes. Obviously, they wanted words. Well, fine. Durf de durf. Let's just go ask a dizzy girl who is fading from consciousness some questions. If she doesn't answer them then we'll just eat her. Kauda thought in her mind in a mimicking, sarcastic tone. "And I don't mind help, I just don't need it. I'm just.. just dizzy." said Kauda quietly. |
