Draven could barely muster enough energy to groan in response to Gent's admonishment. At least laying on his side and breathing shallowly through his nose and mouth was helping somewhat; if Gent would let him stay here for a little while, hopefully Draven would eventually feel comfortable enough to really drop off and sleep for a little while... although he also pretty sincerely hoped that if he did sleep, he would wake up with enough time and energy to make his way back to the nice, warm den. It was still chilly enough out here that he trembled on and off. He felt Gent lay down behind him, but didn't have the energy anymore to want him to go away - or even to tell him as much. Plus, what if something went wrong again and Gent wasn't around to help him? And the black leviathan was offering a bit of warmth, so at least he was even being useful still. And as much as he hated to admit it... having the man near helped him feel safer. Soon enough, nearby the water in case he needed it and with Gent there to keep watch over him, he drifted off into a deep, dreamless sleep. He didn't wake up again until the morning sunlight began to filter through the trees. |
