The fish struggled against the pair of wolves throwing great waves of icy cold water across the snow banks. An onlooker might have seen the tug of war as a titanic battle between the hunters of the land and the monster of the deep. It was truly a scene worthy of the background music to Pirates of the Caribbean.
Kova continues to push at the fish with his chest and paws feeling giddy that they were actually slowly but surely budging it more and more onto the snow. Huffing in the musky scent of fish almost made Kova dizzy as the animal finally rolled onto the frost covered earth. His sides were heaving for breath while the fish suddenly stilled. It was storing energy for the next round of thrashing fits, and if the wolves didn't kill it soon the creature could flop around back into the water again. Kova stumbles onto the bank shivering as cold water drips from his warm body. The youth eyeballs the fish as the creature gasps for air on the snow bank and then starts flopping around in the snow. Laughing for no reason. Kova moves to help keep the fish still again. He drapes his body over the front end of the creature for a minute or two as the creature wiggles about underneath him like a bull at the rodeo.
It was no secret that Kova was getting tired. He was after all a child still, plus he was rather skinny from lack of food. Knowing that they had to kill the thing soon, Kova stepped back from the flopping fish and struggled against its scales trying to roll the sturgeon onto its back. It took Kova another few minutes to do this with a ton of help from Hexamora. The fish slipped onto its side then was forced onto its back by the wolves where Kova again draped himself over the animal to keep it from rolling back right side up. “GET AT ITS BELLY ALREADY!” the young wolf snarled before biting at the sturgeons whiskery face. The sensation of its sucking mouth against his cheek was more than enough to freak out Kova into repeatedly biting at its eyes and gills.
