The sun was shining, it was actually bouncing off the grass, and it caused a bit of a reaction when he recovered from his slumber to find it nearby. The woods had been his accompanied spot of pleasure for a fair bit now, and to look out and be able to see such insanity of open space, able to be paced through was enough to set the weak willed wolf on edge. A good idea was often brought out by the most absurd attempts, but this was just beyond! What did it look like he was going to do, go sneaking about in a field - and from yards away, shout out surprise!
A push of silent willpower was enough to move him forward, but there was undoubtedly some hesitation. There was always a risk that something bad could happen, and his ears flicked back against his skull as carefully he emerged. Eradicated once before, the wolf knew what it was to be driven out of an area quick enough. He was greedy, he was a fool to be so endlessly interested in what might have been lingering around the bend. The field appeared to be frequented by a few bodies, both alive and interesting and those accompanied with small horrors of injury in their scent.
Swallowing, the wolf meandered - appearing aimless, without a task in the world to be concerned about. Not quite the truth, but his body reminded him that perhaps it was not the appropriate place to be sassed. It was why his nose sought the air, looking for something that might have engaged him. What did he really want? Why, that was obvious! He wanted a nice little girl, a plump little behind --
Ahem.
It would be a peculiar opportunity to sing a song in a lady's ear and serenade her that her lonely days were over. Thus far, he had been damned with terrible luck! There had been no females around at all looking for him to sing to them! It was a downright cruelty! They were missing out, he declared, they simply did not know it yet! But that could be fixed - it was just a matter of getting back on his feet and plunging into opportunity!
Cursing, the male lifted a paw. Oh dear.
He had a thorn.
