Confusion darted across her face when he said he would be damned, his explanation after the fact bringing an easy smile to her face. “Well then yer practically family already then aren’t yer?” she teased, even more relaxed with the stranger after the sudden revelation than she had been before. She could not see the offer of fresh fish being turned away, nor one who was willing and able to provide it on a regular basis.
She nodded her agreement and looked to the moon still hanging high overhead. “We might be better holdin’ off fer a few more hours. We can get there by sun-up instead o’ draggin’ anyone outta bed.” she spoke out loud, no doubt the pups were running @Angier and @Elettra into the ground with their recent explorations and the last thing she wanted was for poor Pickerel to be mistaken as a threat to herself and encounter @Skoll under the cover of darkness without wearing one of the leaders scents. The weather was still mild enough to sleep out in the open, if a little on the chilly side, and she certainly planned on grabbing a few winks before her journey home.
She moved to settle herself close enough to the fish to deter other predators (though not close enough that the scent might rub off on her) and tilted her head to her companion, wordlessly inviting him to occupy the empty space at her back before she lowered her chin to the cool earth.
Despite her failed attempts at fishing it had turned out to be a lovely night after all.
