Bennet took off toward the mountain, yipping with excitement for the adventure to come. Karina hesitated only out of surprise; she often forgot that despite her maturity Bennet was still only a young girl, fully capable of flipping from pensive to playful in a given moment.
Karina carried a smile and a light heart as she explored the mountainside with her daughter. Travelling alongside Bennet reminded Karina of their journey to Dragonveil Fold, and she thanked the Mother for their safe arrival and the special time they had spent together. Come spring, the pair might not have the opportunity to spend quality alone time any longer… at least that’s what Karina was hoping. Her smile grew at the thought of tiny chirping dragons gracing the Fold, and Bennet becoming a big sister.
Dark would certainly fall before they made it back to their cave, and they would send a howl down to Kjors to reassure him that they were okay. Perhaps he would catch up to them, and they could all continue their exploration together. Or not, it mattered little. With the Mother watching over them in Her holy place, there was nothing that Karina feared.
