Oksana Baranski

The next growl to meet her ears caused them to flatten against her skull and she was starting to think she had been wrong about Cyril all along. All she was trying to do was help but he didn't want it as he was making more clear. She didn't want to abandon him out on the tundra by himself like her father had abandoned her and her mum. She didn't see that she had much choice in the matter. Then a white figure covered in the same smelling blood appeared at Cyril's side growling her own warning, Oksana assumed this must be his mother.

The dark pup backed away from the pup she thought could have been a friend. She looked between the woman and the pup for a moment before deciding it wasn't worth trying anymore. “I'm sorry for whatever has happened to you both.” Then she looked at Cyril, “And I’m sorry I misinterpreted our day with the hoppers.” She then turned to go back to the Hearthwood.

This will he Oksana's exit unless stopped

i'd like to get in another post after @Cyril so pi can have three if yall dont mind :x

The apologies were unwanted. Had Piety been in a better mind she wouldn't have been so rough. She wouldn't have become defensive against a child that was only as old as her own son. But the girl could keep her sorries and go back to where she came from. Soon enough it would become obvious that the Northern reaches of the tundra were empty. The place where strong wolves once lived was now nothing more than a graveyard for dreams and loved ones.

Her features softened and she looked towards Cyril, her gaze roaming over his body to check for any injuries. He looked safe but the question still flowed from her with motherly worry. "She didn't hurt you did she?" Piety truly doubted it but she would regret it if she didn't ask.

feel free to PP cyril leaving with her, all moody n shit

He had seen enough of the tundra—it was time for him to leave. To forget about the barren expanse and the wolves he had met during his time on the monadnock. Because they, too, would forget about him. Just a ghost in their memories.

Another growl pooled within his chest as the girl spoke, her voice filling the space between them. Apologies. He wanted to laugh but it wouldn’t come. His throat was too dry and he couldn’t be bothered to make the unnatural noise roll off his tongue. Part of him, deep down, felt bad for being so cruel to the river girl. Hoppers. The word had triggered a memory, his ears twitching. But his expression remained the same. There would be no apology coming from the broken Kael. Not today.

He watched her turn away, her dark figure growing smaller as she moved across the tundra, heading straight for the trees of the Kingswood. Good. Only then did he allow his posture to relax, despite his bristled fur. His yellow orbs fell onto the pale, bloodstained figure of his mother, his ears flattening against the back of his skull. She didn’t hurt you did she? He shook his head no, his tail sagging between his legs. She had offered to help—to talk. The river girl had done the opposite of hurting him. He just wanted no part of her sympathy.

She nodded her head back at his own nod. The mother felt a small sense of relief. Piety would offer a small gentle brush of her shoulder against his if he would accept it. They had each other to lean on. Piety didn't blame him for his silence. She would have been the same if she didn't have to push through. With a handful of wolves following her and business needing to be attended to she couldn't fully grieve. Not yet.

"We need to get back to Adeltra, she's waiting for us." Piety informed him before setting off at a brisk trot. Her shadowy son would likely trail behind her but as long as he was following she would not complain. She was now juggling two children. One which wasn't even hers and was a long way from where she belonged. The other had just witnessed his father's death. A bitterness lingered in the back of her throat at the world around her and what it was doing to them.
